Are you using windows XP or Vista. You should not have a problem if after you do a full system recovery, you add any service pack updates. Download these first and burn to a disk. Also make sure that all the drivers get reinstalled ok. After doing the recovery go into system device manager to see if your network card is installed even if it is a internal one on your motherboard.

If your connection is wireless you may need to setup a wired connection first from the router.

Time warner roadrunner usually works right away with little problems.

Boot from the Windows XP CD-ROM.
Choose 'R' to "repair".
This will start the "Recovery Console".
Run the 'DISKPART' utility to create a new partition.
Remove the CD-ROM, and then type 'exit' to shutdown the Recovery Console.
Insert the first of the 10 "recovery" CDs, and start the reload/recovery.

How do i recover my system with back up disk

Insert the recovery CD in your CD-ROM,Set your BIOS to boot from CD-ROM,then follow the Instruction.

That's it.

Note : Restoring your system with Recovery disk will erase your entire Operating drive data.Make sure you backup your data (if you think it has  imporatnt data) before going for recovery.

You can use any Linux Live CD distribution. But if you are not familiar with Linux.Download "Hiren's Boot CD"

Here is the link

http://www.hirensbootcd.net/

Just clikc the download button and extract the file using Winzip or Winrar.

Burn the ISO files with Nero or MagicISO or PowerISO in a CD.

Boot the system using that CD (set the First Boot Device as CD-DVd ROM in BIOS).

Select "Start Mini Windows XP"

then copy all the important files to another media.

That's it.

I lost my recovery disks during move now i cannt reboot system theres a problem on hdd it says no room left so now wont let me make any recovery disks yet there is nothing on hdd

Start Internet Explorer.
Click Tools.
Click Internet Options.
Click Delete Temporary Internet Files.
Close Internet Explorer.

Click Start.
Click Run.
Type CMD and press ENTER.
Type CD LOC and press the TAB key and then the ENTER key.
Type CD TEMP and press ENTER.
Type ERASE * and press ENTER.
Type Y to confirm that you want to erase everything in this "temp(orary)" folder.
Type CD \WINDOWS\TEMP and press ENTER.
Type ERASE * and press ENTER.
Type Y to confirm that you want to erase everything in this "temp(orary)" folder.
Type DIR and press ENTER.
You should see something like:

20 File(s) 3,165,781 bytes
20 Dir(s) 1,443,053,568 bytes free

i.e., where 1.4 Gigabytes is enough space to hold about 2 full CD-ROMs of data.

Find a USB memory-stick that is mostly "empty", and connect it,
to create more "available" disk-space, e.g., 1 or 2 or 4 or 8GB more.

Now, try to make the recovery disks.

Windows is booting to recovery partition How do I stop it?

you cannot stop this now that the process has started, take the hard drive out, connect it to another PC as a "slave" drive to recover any data you need to back up, reconnect it to your pc and proceed with the recovery, you should have a choice of a "non destructive recovery" which means any data stored in "my documents" should be safe, or a full recovery, meaning it formats the whole drive and re-installs the operating system to factory settings (wipes all data)

hope this helps
