Mcdevito75 here, You may have to go thru the entire 24 hour cycle to change the date, then re-set month and day. Depending on what kind of watch you have.

How do I set the day & date on my Timex Indiglo watch?

Google shows how.

https://www.leaf.tv/articles/how-to-set-the-date-for-a-timex-expedition-indiglo-watch/
?
?Quoting from the link above:
?
?"The Timex Expedition Indiglo wristwatch tells the time and date, illuminates at the press of a button, and can wake you up at a designated time. Once you receive and adjust your watch to your liking, you might have questions about how to program the date properly. You’ll want to have an accurate watch before wearing and relying on it throughout your day in class, at work or while exercising. You can set the date on your watch with a few simple steps.
Pull the plastic guard from beneath the crown knob (located on the right edge of the watch), and push the crown knob into the watch to start your watch. You will see the second hand begin to advance.
Pull the crown knob out to the middle position to set the day. The crown knob has three positions: “In,” “Middle” and “Out.” Turn the crown knob clockwise to advance the days up, until the current day appears in the window on the right side of the watch face. Turn the knob counterclockwise to move the date down in number. Push the crown knob all the way in to start the watch.
Pull the crown knob completely out, if the day doesn’t change with the knob in the middle position, and cycle the time backward or forward through 24-hour periods until you arrive at the current day. Push the knob in to start the watch.
Pull the crown out to the middle position and adjust your date to the next month for months that have less than 30 days. Your watch will cycle through 31 days every month, so manual adjustments for shorter months are required."

HOW TO SET DAY / DATE ON AN ANALOG (STEM) WATCH

mcdevito75 here, Over Forty (40) years ago, watch manufactures added, to some of their ANALOG (wind up) and almost all of their DIGITAL (button display) watches the FEATURE of the, MONTH or DAY of the WEEK and the DATE, not only was the time of day available but also the DATE which you no longer had to go searching for, it was readily available on your wrist. The PROBLEM came with SETTING the CORRECT MONTH or DAY of the week and the DATE as some MONTHS HAD 31 DAYS rather than 30 DAYS, this meant you had to CYCLE your watch at least 62 times to get to the CORRECT DATE and mant times, when you finally did reach the CORRECT DATE, the day of the week was off, meaning more CYCLES thru the 24 hours.-------- HERE is the EASY way to SET the MONTH or DAY / DATE on your QUARTZ / MECHANICAL (STEM) watch without haveing to go thru the 24 hour cycle so many, many times. Not only is this, WEAR on your fingers, you can also damage your watch with some many cycles of the 24 hours to SET the correct MONTH or DAY / DATE. ------ HERE ARE THE BASICS,---------- Your ANALOG or STEM watch either QUARTZ or MECHANICAL should have a TWO (2) position STEM we are only familiar with the ONE (1) position we use to set the TIME, there should be TWO (2) positions to the STEM. First pull out the STEM to adjust the MONTH or DAY depending on your watches display, if your watch DISPLAYs the DAY of the week, set the DAY to one (1) DAY before the DAY you want, don"t worry about the DATE (number) yet. Once you have the MONTH or DAY set, push the STEM back into the watch, NOW with a finger nail just under the STEM (usually from the back of the stem as there is more room) gently lift the STEM to it"s first position, It may take some practice so be patient, once the STEM is in it"s first position you should be able to turn the STEM to adjust the DATE (number), if so Adust the DATE (number) to ONE (1) DATE before the DATE you want, This way your watch will be adjusted to change the DAY / DATE at the correct time. Once you have the DATE (number) adjusted to ONE (1) DATE before the DATE you want, push the STEM back into the watch, NOW pull the STEM out to adjust the time, go thru the 24 hour cycle to adjust to the correct DAY DATE (number) and time of day.------------ Your QUARTZ or MECHANICAL (stem) watch is now adjusted to the correct DAY / DATE and will change at the correct hour which is generally 12--1 AM.

How do you set the day and month?

Mcdevito75 here, The stem on your Timex shou;ld have two (2) positions, slip a finger nail just under the crown and gently lift to the first position, it may take a little practice to get but you will. In this first position you"ll see by turning the crown one way you can change the date (number) and turning in the other direction you can change the month or day, if so, set the day and date to one (1) day before the day and date you want. Push the stem back in and lift the stem all the way to set the time of day, now cycle thru the watches 24 hours to set the day and date you want. Your Timex is now set and will change at the proper time of around midnite. If your Timex has the month and day you may have to cycle the 24 hours to reach the correct month other than that these instructions should help.

Setting month, date, and day of the week on non-digital watch

Date and month

There are three positions when you unscrew the crown stem. One does the day, one does the date and one does the time. You can also advance the date by rotating the crown stem and advance the time for 24 hours, as if a day passed. That takes a lot longer.
