Charging my w880i has stopped charging, it has now died and i cant get it to charge. can i fix it or how do i get the content of the phone on my comp without having to switch it off?

Try taking out and leaving the battery out overnight. then try charging again.

Try putting it on charger and switch on the phone. My guess it that the charging mechanism has gone bad in the phone. also try charging the same battery on another phone which uses the same battery (if you can) this will tell you if hte battery is alright. Also try replacing the charger (just in case).
with the charger plugged in, try connecting the phone to the computer and take back up. also some of these phone (i am not sure about your model charges when connected to Computer. try that as well..
