So, you have a flat panel with no sound?
Well, with out Brand or Model let me start here:
1. Unplug 'flat panel',cable box or sat. box from the power source, a/c cord from wall, for at least 4-5 minutes, plug back into wall.
2. Make sure volume level on TV and boxes are turned up, some cable boxes have volume controls.
3. Ensure that speakers are turned on, some 'flat panel's' have options of turning speakers off. Check menu....audio/sound.
4. Double check all cables from 'flat panel' to "boxes", make sure they are secure.
5. Try different inputs and devices (dvd) on 'flat panel' or cables.
6. If still no audio, one the boards may be defective.
If so make sure you call a factory authorized service dealer to service your 'flat panel.

How do I turn on the sound to the plasma P42W24Bx (speakers dont seem to work). Are there speakers in the set or do I have to get externnal speakers? The volume is on and can adjust but no sound. The mute is not on (turned off and on). Found nothing in the Menu for audio fix (just adjusts the sound).
I have picture and can move volume control higher or lower. Can hear speakers are on when volume is turned up highest but I have no sound.T.V. is only 5 months old.
Maxent ML-3251HLT with dvd player. The picture is perfect but the audio can only be heard when playing the dvd. With the tv on a slight hiss can be heard at max volume. SAP is off. My antenna is the only accessory. Did not intend to hook speakers and receiver to unit but do you think this will help.
