Sony KV-24FV12 picture problem

Sony KV-24FV12: when a mostly bright scene comes on, the screen suddenly brightens appreciably and takes on a somewhat greenish tint in white areas. Picture shifts back to normal in less bright scenes. Any suggestions?

Turned Velocity Modulation to Off. Reduced the Contrast and turned the Sharpness control all the way down. Although the picture is softer, the green shift in bright scenes is almost gone. Thanks!

Why does my Toshiba tv screen go from dark to light?

The TV's main culprits to be causing this problem are "dynamic contrast" which maybe darkening the backl light in dark scenes an example a night time or a dark scene in a movie. To make the blacks be deeper (as LCD/LED TV are rubbish at blacks) or brighten it on bright scenes to make the light be lighter and once again to make the blacks be deeper so the images pop out. Also "eco lighting" this will dim or brighten the image based on the amount of light in a room in order to be saving energy. Ether way the easy fix is to turn both of these features off. You will get rid of the problem and enjoy more subtler shades of colour that would otherwise be bleached (brightend) or crushed(darkend) out..

Is the video plugged in? It may have fallen out - this is if you are using RCA style jacks - one for video, and two for sound

Sony KV-32FX20U picture has a colour cast

Check its video output card [a card directly plugged on to the back of the picture tube] for any loose solder terminals. Re-solder all the suspected solder terminals there, by applying a little more solder to each points. A bad solder point can cause this type of problem.

Is there a Reset button that will degauss the picture tube Sony KV-24FV12 24"?

It has an automatic degaus function. Switch the set off at the mains switch and leave it off overnight. It will automatically degaus the tube when switched on from cold.

Switches off after 3 to 4 secs--little bright screen hor line and small retrace lines

On the my sony website, they said try unplugging the set for 3 or 6 minutes. Then plug it directly to the wall. If that don't work, and it won't; seek a service center. I have the same problem.

Next time we better buy Panasonic. Sony products fail ALOT. I had a 5 disc DVD Changer and it was defective and it was part of a class action lawsuit,

I believe this is the same sort of problem.

The sony Vaio laptop computer gets consistent poor reviews.

I brought an alarm clock and its back up battery never worked right out of the box.

I brought a cordless phone and the LCD display went blank.

I am so DONE with Sony.

Good name; Bad products.

AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the Cboard, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking.
