My 1.5 IR Dish remote has all of a sudden stopped working with our Sanyo tv. I've changed the batteries. When I push the power button it will only light up the VCR button if anything at all. Our other remote - same type will not turn on power but will change channels. The old one does volume and the SANYO remote turns it on. It takes 3 remotes to operate one tv! Help

If the VCR button lights up when you press the Power button, you are not in the correct mode to operate the TV. If the remote is programmed correctly, when you are in SAT mode, you can press the large RED button to turn your receiver off/on. The RED TV button will turn your TV off/on. I have provided links to program your remote to your TV again. I have also provided codes for your Sanyo TV.

Instructions to program your remote to your TV (begin with step 6):

http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/remote-setup
Here are the TV codes: 590, 683, 589, 542, 652

I hope this helps.

Sanyo TV Code for Dish remote 21.0 IR/UHF PRO only operates TV Power and Volume Functions.

Hello Witt Thomas,

I can understand the concern and wanting the remote to work the TV Menus. It is possible with our remotes, however it depends on the TV itself. I've seen instances where there are 2 TV's in one house, and 1 will do it, while the other won't.

If you have tried all of the remote codes, and none work, the only other options we have available are to try a powr scan, or teach the remote. This link http://www.mydish.com/support/teach-learning-remote-20-21 can provide the steps on how to teach that model of remote control!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Then youwill want to press the # button and press the red TV button and make sure yourvolume and mute are working. My dish remote for my new vizio tv only works part-time. the volume and power work, but the guide button only works less than half the time and only after holding it down for 5 seconds. i have exchanged...

judileighahl,

If you have replaced batteries and had a new remote sent out to you, either the Vizio TV is emitting an IR signal that is interfering with the remote IR signal to the receiver. To test if the TV is emitting interference, is it possible for you to turn the receiver in a direction away from the TV and see if the remote will work? If it does work after moving the receiver, that indicates interference from the TV. If it doesn't change the situation, you might check for other interference from other components (florescent lights, etc.). I hope this helps.

Hello, the remote can sometimes have problems. If you haven't changed the batteries in 60 days, try different batteries, or even try a different brand. Sometimes also, with new remotes, the remotes can be faulty upon arrival. If changing the batteries doesn't help, then at that point, we would probably want to replace the remote again. It has been some time since you posted, but if you have yet to get this resolved, I would be more than happy to take a look into this for you. You can reach me at [email protected].

My dish network remote has an issue it take me 10 mins to get the remote to change chanels i have to keep pressing the button for allmost 10 minutes before it well work the remote has fresh batteries

drackul69, I am unsure what type of TV you have, but some LCD TV's generate heat while they power on and a remote on IR will not work until the TV warms which can take 5-20 minutes. If you have a LCD TV that may be a cause for the problem. If so a UHF remote for TV1 will fix that.

Dish network remote stopped working for on and off and volume

First before trying to repair the remote lets try to just reprogram it. The easiest way to do this is to do a search. 1st Turn the tv on, then on the remote press and hold the tv button until it flashes. Next press the tv power button. Next press the up arrow button slowly until the tv turns off. Then hit the # key. Now if you pressed the up arrow to many times and the tv doesn't respond to the remote just start the process over, except using the up arrow use the down. You may have to push the up arrow button many times before it finds the code. The batteries usually last quite a while since there are 4 of them. If this doesn't work call 1-800-333-dish they will either send out a tech or just mail you a new one. If you have the user guide for the 722 the instructions to do this are on page 82.
