Hi, I have an older Thomson ST2022 VoIP phone. The admin password is missing. The default password was changed from the usual 784518 and I can't configure the phone. Anything I can do to reset the phone to original admin password? Thanks.

you do need to hold the button for awhile sometimes

You will need to know the administrator password of your Thomson TG782T.

Go to a computer that is currently hooked up to internet through that device, hit the start menu, go to run, and type cmd in the field and hit enter. When the command prompt comes up, type: (ipconfig) without the parentheses and hit enter. You should see "default gateway" and a set of numbers next to it. Like: (888.888.8.8) only different numbers of course. Open up internet explorer and type those numbers in the address bar at the top where you normally put in a website's name. Once you hit enter, it should ask you for a password, the default username is usually: admin the default password is also usually: password, or a set of 0's, or admin again. If you can get past that point you should be logged onto your device and be able to change anything you want. Let me know.

You may need to reset your router. Most routers will have a default username and password printed somewhere on the router itself. Once you find it find the reset button, usually a small whole with a recessed button inside. Use a pen or something small enough to reach the button and hold it down while the routers still on for at least 15 seconds. After which you will just need to reconfigure your router to the setting you had before. And don't forget to change your default admin password because the default passwords are usually readily available on the internet.

the default username is Administrator (case sensitive). the default password is blank.

Be sure to type the user name with an capital 'A'

Usually the username and password for this are : admin for username and admin also for password. Sometimes the pasword is 1234. If someone change the password then you can hard reset the adsl modem by pressing and holding a small hole ( usually on the side, its in the manual ) using a pen or a pin. Then the username and password will be in its default. Just check the manual. Sometimes the username and password is also written in the box or underneath the adsl modem. If this does not work, you can try calling your ISP.

It sounds like you got this phone from the service provider you want to stop using.
If so, then the problem is that they have preprogrammed a provisjoning server in your phones firmware.
As long as this service is enabled their settings will overwrite any changes.
i cant find any information about this modell, but usually this menu is in a admin restricted part of the firmware and therefore it cant be changed without doing some serious hacking.
But before you give up try looking for settings in firmware menu (if it got a webui) that can point to this.

Voip equipment is usually cheap so its not worth the hassle if it cant be done easily. So before u put in a lot of hours in this problem consider buying new hardware.

Warning This will RESET to FACTORY DEFAULT

There should be reset hole with a button in it if you press this and hold it in. count to ten then release, this will reset it to factory default setting.

If you are not wanting factory reset you will have to login to the linksys the default IP is 192.168.1.1 login name admin password admin.. that is you havent change it. and from there you can find your settings and change them..
