I need help with my DLP TV

My tv won't turn on, Lamp LED flashes until after three attempts to turn tv on all three LEDs flash. I have already replaced the ballast and the lamp. I checked the color wheel and it wasn't spinning when I push the power button. I checked and the color wheel is getting power.I removed the color wheel and when you spin it by hand it has a dry metal to metal sound, but it still spins freely.
Do you think the color wheel is the problem?
Thanks

If you have verified the votages are there at the color wheel and its not spinning the color wheel is most likely defective. the sound you hear when spinning by hand is most likely the bearing but that shouldnt stop it from spinning. but as i said if the supply voltage is present but it still wont spin. the color wheel must be defective.

Ihave a DLP Projection TV, Model Number 52SX4D. When I try to turn it on, in the operation indicators, the second light from the top flashes and then the TV shuts off?

Hi Brian,

The operation LED indicators on DLP Projection TV's also act as 'Diagnostic Indiactors'.

The flash sequence of these LED's indicate the appropriate fault - you will need to refer to your User Manual which should explain what each flash sequence means.

Generally, most faults on DLP TV's relate to either cooling (fan operation), faulty/expired lamp, or even a loose panel (lamp door etc) somewhere is not correctly secured, causing a micro switch to trigger a shut down.

If you don't have a User Manual, try downloading it from the manufacturer's website.

Hope this helps......

hello When the TV has been powered on long enough for the lamp unit to get hot, it may take several minutes for
the picture to appear on-screen. See "IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT HOT LAMP R
When the TV has been powered on long enough for the lamp unit to get hot, it may take several minutes for the picture to appear on-screen
in the following situations:
• When the Quick Restart™ feature is set to OFF and you turn the TV off and then on again within a few minutes.
• If the TV is on when a short-term power failure, power surge, or other similar power failure occurs, such that the TV loses and regains
power within a few minutes.
This is a property of DLP TV lamp technology and is NOT a sign of malfunction.
If this occurs, the green LED on the TV front panel will blink (and the red LED will be lit solid) until the TV is finished restarting the lamp
and the normal picture appears. If BOTH green and red LEDs are blinking at a one-second rate, you will need to turn the TV off and then
on again to restart the lamp.

Samsung 46" DLP

HLP, HCN HL-S The Start-up Problem or/and
3 LEDs in the front blinking.

Unplug the set, pull out the lamp module (not all the way - leave it on the track) and push it back in.

Power issues (Tv not turning on) were typically due to faulty ballast. While the TV reports a bad lamp it is the ballast itself causing the issue. Samsung is well aware and will replace both the ballast and the lamp (since the lamp can be prematurely aged but the bad ballast). After replacment most people stop having issues.

No picture, new lamp

Did you reset the hours on the lamp with the menu options on your set? Sometimes, if you do not do that it can mess with the tv performance thinking that its over hours. It needs to be reset to 0 again...
