SOURCE: I AM TRYING TO SET THE DATE & TIME TO APPEAR ON MY PHOTOS.

you can only do date and time stamp under function button go to bottom where you can change size of pictures -go to right to W or wide-this is only setting you can do date time stamp on-when you change pic size and go back to menu you will see it highlighted and you can now turn it on-equals about a 2-3 megapixel size picture only-also just leave settings alone and have printer add it-date and time our always in pic data and most printers can add it

SOURCE: Canon SD 1000 time and date stamp on downloaded photo

You can download the manual from the link below: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=323&modelid=14901 From page 37 of the manual it looks like you can only select the time stamp in "postcard" mode. Also the date & time need to be set in the camera first. Please update the question & let us know if the information given was useful to you - Good Luck!

SOURCE: I cannot get a date

In order to get the date stamp on the pictures, the resolution/size has to be set to "Postcard". Look at the menu and you will see L, M1, M2, M3, S, and Postcard. Then you can turn on the date stamp option.

SOURCE: cannot turn date stamp on in menu settings.

Date stamp is only possible when you set the resolution (picture size) at "Postcard 1600x1200" option, if the date stamp is set to "Date & Time" or "Date" option

SOURCE: i have a canon powershot

When you turn your camera on, there is a screen which appears in the viewfinder. Push the FUNC SET button and then scroll down the column on the left of your viewfinder until you come to the one with the letters M1 M2 M3 S, etc to the right. Then select the one called "Postcard 1600x1200" by scrolling to the right. Your camera is then in the post card mode. You can then go to the date stamp in the menu and your camera will not skip over it any longer! EUREKA!!

Set date stamp

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Can not seem to set date to appear on my Canon PowerShot A610 - is it possible? in menu Date Stamp is grayed out

If the current date & time is not set in the root menu, the T&D stamp feature isn't available.

Check your quality settings as well.
My Canon won't allow stamping on portrait-quality prints, or hi-speed settings.

How do I turn off the date and time stamp on my canon powershot sx110?

The menu on the camera controls the date and time stamp. Turn on the menu i camera mode, there are three choices, Camera, Settings and customize. Time stamp should be in the middle menu. Look for time settings and turn it off. All pictures have time and date always. The time/date stamp just makes it visible in the image.

Canon SD 1000 time and date stamp on downloaded photo

Set the resolution to PostageCard (1600x1200).
Many of these cameras have only ONE RESOLUTION setting which allows you to have a date/ date and time stamp on the file, which will print on the viewed or printed photo.

How to do it:
Turn the camera on M mode.
Use the func. set.
go down the menu to the resolution settings. (on the bottom of menu).
Pick only the postagecard (1600x1200) setting.

I also was like you, and had an awful time with a camera I was fixing. I then looked it up on the Net and found an online user manual for the Canon SD 500, which should be basically the same.
