I just installed 2 gigs of RAM into my Thinkpad T60p and the BIOS does not see it. Yikes! what can be wrong. It seems to be located correctly.

One of the RAM module may be incompatible. Are both RAM modules the same type and make?
Try inserting 1Gb RAM module at a time to see if the BIOS can see the RAM.

Hi, i used to have 1 gig ram . recently i bought 2 gig ram both has 667 Mhz of speed the prob is that pc is not booting up with 2 gig in combo or alone is it problem with the bios please help

Hi

This is DDR2 RAM for a motherboard that takes DDR2 RAM.

It is more likely that the RAM is incompatible. Check the correct RAM specification range for *********** board.

Also some RAM is Error Correcting and this might not be compatible with your motherboard. Most PC motherboards take non error correcting RAM.

If not, the RAM may be faulty. Most RAM has a lifetime warranty, so you should be able to return it.

To clear the BIOS memory, disconnect the power cable and remove the small silver CMOS battery for 2 ninutes, then reintstall the battery, reconnect th epower and test again.

I hope this helps.

Windows doesn't see my 6 GB of RAM but BIOS does

You have the same machine as i. To the best of my knowledge it does not support 2 gig sticks. Thats why the say it only supports 4 gig of ram. I hope that is correct still. I also do not have a12 Bios so it could have changed.

Red Green stripes on IBM Thnikpad T60p tft monitor

Those are dead pixels if you want to get rid of them you will probably need to replace the monitor. They will probably charge you an arm and a leg to replace it so you might get a second quote from Computer repair shop.

4gigs ram

Switch sticks around in various combinations (2 gig in slot one, 1 gig in slot two, switch, try other stick, etc) and see if it is the memory or the motherboard.
