I have a Dell model 7000240-0001 power supply from a Poweredge 2500/4600 server and I want to make it a stand alone power supply for a lipo charger. I am trying to find out how the PS switches on. There is a 24 pin connector in between the input and output terminals that should be where the switching must take place. I need a schematic/wiring diagram or someone with the knowledge to point me in the right direction. I would appreciate the help. Scott

SOURCE: Does Dell PowerEdge 4600 Server support DVD ROM

I am working on one of these now and yes, it should boot from DVDROM. Be aware that it is a notebook style drive and there are no onboard IDE or SATA controllers, so once the drive dies you're in for a wallet hit. Same goes for the floppy drive which is integrated with the DVDROM. Even worse, the presence of the broken floppy usually means a USB floppy drive won't help when loading windows drivers at install time.

SOURCE: Dell ATX(12v) power supply

The fact that it is made by Dell is irrelivent.

ATX is a standard and so are 20 and 24 pin motheroboard connectors.

You should find what you need by searching for: power supply unit on Wikipedia and Google.

Good luck!

SOURCE: No power on my PowerEdge 1800 Server

dells power supplies must come from dell. I would call dell and give then the service tag number of your server and they will be able to tell you about how much a power supply is.

Poweredge 6600 not showing display

If you have multiple video connections (onboard from motherboard, usually vertical or stand alone video card, usually horizontal) that you plug into the stand alone card, as the onboard is normally disabled when the expansion is installed. Verify the cable and monitor both work and that the monitor is on the correct input. Finally try another video card, if you have one available. Even if the drivers are not correct, etc, you should still see a boot screen.

Why red light blinking on dell poweredge 840

Hello,

Check your power supply or the power supply source (outlet or UPS unit) as well as the power cord. Your system power source is not at the correct amp, voltage and may need replacing.

Good Luck.

Dell Poweredge 1800 server not start, i press power button but nothing hapened

Your Model of Dell Poweredge 1800 server may not have a redundant power supply. The power supply is the most like cause of the problem. order a replacement power supply and replace the faulty unit.

I Like to use the Dell PowerEdge 2600 Mfr P/N 7000679-0000 (supplier ATSN) power supply stand alone. Could you please provide me the pin-assignments on the connector?, for 12V Your help is highly...

The fact that it is a dell IS relevant because dell is always doing custom plugs and connectors and form factors. It has no ATX plug. This a server power supply and has no green wire. I would like to use this as a stand alone psu too because it delivers 60 amps of 12v.7_22_2012_8_22_34_pm.jpg

No power to dell poweredge 1600sc. Redundant power supplies have no lights.

Either the power supplies have both failed, which is unlikely, or they are not connected to a hot outlet. Frequently servers are connected to uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) instead of being connected directly to a wall outlet. Make sure the UPS is on and functioning.

Dell provides lifetime phone support for their servers so you should give them a call if you need more help tracking down the problem. (800) 945-3355
