Recently purchased a replacement 4100. Included literature said it was a 4100b and an upgrade to the 4100. (No visible external differences noted.) Among the features listed is a "stateful inspection firewall". I think I understand stateful packet inspection as applied to firewalls. (The firewall tries to verify open internet connections that correspond to the packet. If verified, the packet is allowed through. Otherwise it's rejected.)
Questions: My ISP provided the original 4100 and did the installation. Did the 4100 have a firewall or is this an upgrade for the 4100b? Is this firewall safe to use with the built-in Windows XP firewall (the way a router firewall is able to work seamlessly with the XP firewall)? Thanks.
4100 modem dont have interface and needs broadband connection in your network connection page
4100b modem have an interface and can access interface by the IPADDRESS of 192.168.1.64 and default gateway of 192.168.0.1
by accessing the default gateway using address bar of internet explorer browser it will be easy to configure..
