I have a green line in the middle of the screen. It appears after about 10 minutes. This is a HDTV monitor 1080P with 1920 x 1200 resolution. It is less that 3 hours old.

It is a tossup between a bad LCD panel and the logic board. The only way to tell for sure is to change out the logic board or have it tested on another unit. Checkout www.lcdrepair.us for instruction videos on that unit as well as parts.

Hi, i have AL1716 monitor (2 year old). Recently, there is a blue vertical line which appears on and off sometimes in the monitor. Can anyone suggest on a solution

Is the vertical line always at one location ? (on the screen)
If so, it appears that the video card/driver (on your PC or laptop) may be causing the line to appear occasionally ... i.e. flaky ... and it will likely fail (completely) in due time. To confirm it's the video card, try using another monitor (long enough) to see if it happens.
[ The line may also be caused by "dead" pixel on the screen ... but this usually happens on randomly located pixels on the screen, not on one vertical line. But, it may also be a possibility ... in which case, using a different monitor may prove it one way or the other ]

Colored vertical lines

This is caused by the driver tabs between the LCD panel and the controller board that runs it inside.
In general, it is not a repairable thing, and can be very expensive to repair if you choose to go that route.
Please note this is not the video card that is inside the monitor,(where your cable from the PC connects to the monitor) but the actual driver board for the panel.

Gateway laptop vertical dotted lines across the screen

Sounds like a problem with the LCD assembly or cable. You may want to reseat the LCD cable at the LCD end. It could be a loose internal connector in the LCD assembly.
