That HDMI port is shorted and dying.Just don't used that HDMI port. That the cheapest and easy way, just by pass that HDMI port.Other wise than u have to spend like $130 -150 to buy a whole refurbish tv Tuner signal board for the replacement.Because those HDMI ports, dosen't have any indiviual sell by itself as HDMI port as part.

This is not the power supply. HDMI has several versions. Cables can be mismatched to the version. HDMI also has a very sensitive input and can pick up any outside interference if you have long cables.

Toshiba HD ready TV ct 90158 makes high pitched sound

A high pitch sound can be a capacitor losing power it would sound a bit like a fire work. most have back up on the board but it put more pressure on them the more times you use the tv. would check them and replace. all of them can be 5 in a row in some models.

If you are using a generic HDMI or a DVI cable, you will have to provide a optical audio or composite audio cable as well. Only high end HDMI cables transmit video and audio.

PLUGED IN HDMI CORD AND I NOW HAVE NO SOUND THROUGH THE TV

Some of these sets have to run seperate red and white RCA cables along with the HDMI. I know it sounds silly but it is the truth. Look for audio inputs on the back near the HDMI port.

No sound with HDMI cable and Xbox 360

FROM THE TOSHIBA MENU, (FIRST MAKE SURE YOU ARE SET TO
THE HDMI PORT THAT THE XBOX IS PLUGGED INTO) THEN SELECT
HDMI SETTINGS, UNPLUG HDMI CABLE FROM THE TOSHIBA TV (LCD
FLAT, MINE IS A 42") WAIT FOR THE SETTINGS TO HIGHLIGHT OR NOT
BE GRAYED OUT, THEN TURN OFF THE THREE SETTINGS, FOR COLOR
AND LIP-SYNC., SCROLL DOWN AND PRESS THE RESET BUTTON,
WAIT FOR MESSAGE TO APPEAR. TURN OFF THE TV AND PLUG IN THE XBOX.
TURN EVERY THING BACK ON. SEE IF IT WORKS.
NOT ALL CABLES ARE THE SAME AND NOT ALL TVS ARE THE SAME.
READ THE TV OWNERS MANUAL CAREFULLY, (RTFM), I FOUND A NOTE ABOUT
THESE SETTING ON THE SPECIFICATIONS PAGE.
