SOURCE: System can't Install the MODEM Drivers
You would need to install the USB drivers from the Motorola disk as windows does not have these USB drivers natively.

SOURCE: Dear forum-freinds,
Hi,
If you say the lights are going out on the modem when it boots you off the network then the problem is your modem and not your internet connection, if the modem is new take it back and have them swap it for another one.
Regards.
SOURCE: Cable modem connection problem
Hi, First of all that particular modem is an End of Life modem (meaning it is no longer recieving updated firmware). But that still does not neccesarily mean that its your modem what you need to do when your modem cuts out is to note the leds on the front of your modem. If the modem gets stuck on either the 2nd light from the top or the third light then it is definitely a cable problem. Contact your cable co and tell the tech what lights were stuck blinking while you could not get online and he will know what that means. If you need some more help let me know, because I can explain more. good luck

if the power light is flashing then the modem is on battery backup and internet is disabled. plug the power cord into the modem or find a working power outlet, you should be set after that.
Power light flashing=bad
On your softphone, please do the following:
If that does not work:
<Requires some technical understanding. Explanation below. >
Now restart your magicJack, by following the steps above.
For error 1
If you hear error 1 while trying to place a call with your magicJack, it means that you are not connected to the Internet.
To resolve this, make sure that one end of the ethernet cable is plugged into your modem/router/switch and the other end into your magicJack.
You also need to make sure that your modem/router/switch is powered on and that the port you have connected the magicJack to is functioning correctly.

connected how, Ethernet wired or WiFi ,wireless.?
try both is best.
SB4200 Modem, is old old cable modem DOCSIS 1.1 slug.
2001 made, no way is that your model, but.....
is that your modem or posted to wrong model modem
I bet wrong. no matter the problem is more basic.
NO ROUTER told? why? and I tell about it last.
first are the modems led.
The Modem as about 3 LED some 4.. each have meaning
but one matters most the one, internet connected. matters.
my sb6190 is green blue, blue green now,
connected fully is what matters not just sub LAN connected
if only sub lan LED glows, then DNS fails
ignore lame MS prompts that today demand to get help needs app from MS store, forget all that.
only this matters
ISP not down. call them.
LED lights glow right if not ,? pull AC power cord MODEM for 5min and put it back this resets the modem safely and causes it to do a full connection cycle, if the ISP is not DOWN
now , if DNS still deadd.
we do this.
we ping (command)
in cmd run boxx type, ping 1.1.1.1
if that passes that test the internet is not dead it is good
only DNS is dead
if ping fails, internet is dead. wired.
and we change that in your unstated ROUTER.
setting the router to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8. is best goal.. (pri/sec)
for DNS. and like magic DNS works.
if you tell all you have there, modem , router and PC and now connected this goes more easy...
had to post 3 times to get it past OOPS. error's
wow.
it does not like cmd.e- x- e
text e-x-e no dashes is cussing.
wow.
