The control board has relays on it that are not user replaceable unless you can solder. You also must be able to find them since they are integral to the control board. I have attached the board info to this post. I would change the door switch before I changed the control board. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/lg-main-electronic-control-ebr34917104-ap4450216.html

SOURCE: LG Refrigerator LFX25960ST Dispenser Panel

Here are four ways to reattach the panel:

- Put a short stainless steel screw in each of the two lower corners of the panel. Drill a hole in the panel first -- the hole should be bigger than the diameter of the screw. Next, with the panel in place, carefully drill thru these holes, into the door, a hole smaller than the diameter of the screw. Then screw the panel back on.

- Or, put thick double stick tape along the bottom of the opening for the panel. Two short pieces would be preferable -- this would make it easier to remove.

- Or, if there is enough PVC in the plastic panel, PVC pipe solvent may allow you to refasten the broken clips to the panel. (This is available at hardware stores -- you may want to use PVC primer as well -- but be very careful, the primer is purple, very "thin", and will run -- it will stain everything it touches. If the panel is not PVC, this solution will not work.

- Or, 5-minute epoxy may hold the broken clips to the panel (make sure the epoxy is thouroughly mixed).

SOURCE: Mother Board

Laura,
You win. Most GE side by side refrigerators have an electronic mother board.
Data is feed to it from 5 thermistors, 2 in the freezer and 3 in the fresh food compartment.
In turn the motherboard takes that varying information from the thermistors and controls all functions in the machine.

Interior light stays on all the time

Ther is a repair tip for that lg has had a lot of complaints about over heating lights and melted light covers, just google lg and find the part numbers
tip

Reduce risk of overheating and plastic melting if lights stay on

Even though I have found a statement (I think it was in the LG2.gif troubleshooting2.gif FAQS on line) that the lights in the newer LFX25960 french door/bottom freezer refrigerator will shut off after a period of time to prevent overheating and melting the plastic housing, I have heard of this problem enough times to worry about it. So I replaced the two 60 watt bulbs in my refrigerator with 25 watt appliance bulbs just in case. They provide more than enough light and do not get as hot when on. It took a while to find them. They are made by Philips2.gif and were at Home Depot but not always in stock.

The interior lights wont turn off. they melted the old light bracket so i replaced it and the lights still wont go out

It sounds like you have a switch that isn't closing when the door shuts. I'm not overly familiar with the LG's, but looking at the Sears Parts Direct site, it looks like the door switches are in the hinge covers on top of the unit. There should be two of them, one for each door. But, only one has to not be working to keep the light on. The first thing I would check is to make sure the hinge cover isn't loose or out of position. The switch should close when the door closes. If the hinge cover moves, then the switch won't close. If everything is tight and aligned, then one of the switches is bad. That can be checked with a volt meter that does continuity checks. Unplug the unit before checking because those wires should be hot at all times. If you don't have a meter and want to do trial and error, just buy one switch since they both are the same. Here is the parts diagram showing the switch locations and part numbers:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/LG-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-LFX25960ST/3204/0161000/K0810255/00001
The switch is 402A on the diagram, located on top of the box. If you click on the parts diagram, you can enlarge it to get a closer look.
The switch part number is 6600JB3007E
Hope this helps

Hello. I have an LG French 3 dr. The lights stay on when the door is shut. It is not cooling. I have read all of the advice. Can some one tell me where the main switch board is at so I can check it? ...

Contact LG for service. Even though your unit may be "out of warranty" LG will cover this at no charge. Main board will be upgraded so light relay has higher rated contacts which will not weld their contacts together, and light bulb area will get added thermo protection.

Light parts are over heated and melted. warming up air inside of refrigator.

See if the lights are going out when you shut the door. Push the door switch in to see if light goes out.

Refrigerator doesn't stay on.

sounds like when you moved it you created an air lock, when moving fridges etc. should always leave for 24 hrs to settle before plugging in.... , no guarantee but try laying it down and leaving overnight then stand it up again and leave for at least 24 hrs for the refrigerant to try and sort itself out. UNPLUGGED from mains of course... good luck
