Clock keeps flashing i keep setting clock but after 5 minutes or so starts flashing again putting tape over ready time button to hold it down then reset clock seems to work till the tape comes loose Stove 720ef

Push the clock button until the colon between the hours and minutes starts to flash. Use the up and down arrow buttons to set the time then push the clock button once again to make the colon symbol go solid.

I understand that you are having trouble with your Electrolux Icon oven, model# E30SO75ESS, and running the self-clean cycle. I see that the lock button keeps flashing and that you have the racks and rack holders out. I suggest following the steps below to run your self-clean cycle:

1) Place the rack holders and the racks in your oven.

2) Reset your appliance, by shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes.

3) Restore power.

4) Reset the clock, by pressing the "Clock" button then press the number "2". Enter in the time of day, and then press the "Clock" button again.

5) Start the self-clean cycle with the racks in your range. This is to make your oven recognize that the racks are in the oven.

6) Take the racks and rack holders out and start the self-clean cycle again.

I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your oven status has changed successfully.

If you look at the timer control you will see a button that is used to set the clock. most likely the oven will not operate until the time is set. Press the clock button, set the time and either press start or the clock button again.

Try this. For the 720ef , this is what you need to do.
There are five buttons on the clock panel and from left to right they are:- Minute Minder, Cook time, Ready Time, Plus and Minus.
TO SET THE TIME OF DAY
Press the Cook Time button and the Ready Time button simultaneously. Use the Plus and Minus buttons to set the time.(24hr clock).
TO SELECT AN ALARM TONE.
Press the Minus button to listen to the first tone. Release it and press it again to listen to the second tone etc (3 tones)
Releasing the button after the tone has sounded will automatically set that tone.
SETTING THE MINUTE MINDER.
Press the Minuter Minder button and either the Plus or Minus buttons simultaneously to set the time.
You can cancel the timer at any time by setting it back to 00.00 by using the Minus button.
After setting, the display will revert to the time of day, but by pressing the Minute Minder button again, the display will show the remaining time.
If you want all the information, then it is best if you supply a vaild email address and this will give you access to my BT Digital Vault, where you can have a complete copy of the handbook that I have scanned in.

This is what worked for me:

1) hold down the "Select" button for 5 seconds till the display starts flashing
2) use the right hand dial to set the hour
3) press the "Select" button
4) use the right hand dial to set the minutes
5) press the "Select" button

Set the clock by following these steps: a). Touch TIME pad. b). Turn rotary knob clockwise until CLOCK appears. c). Touch TIME pad. d). Turn rotary knob in either direction. The time displayed will change in 10-minute increments and indicate AM or PM. Turn the knob in the opposite direction and the display will change in one-minute increments. e). Touch TIME pad. The clock is now set. in some units there is button instead of knob in that case the clock indicating button has to be pressed . This will help. There are 5 buttons next to the clock. From left to right they are:-
Minute Minder, Cook Time, Ready Time, Plus and Minus.
It sounds like the timer needs setting back to manual, so to cancel the automatic setting and return to manual operation, press the Cook Time and Ready Time buttons simultaneously.

To cancel any remaining cooking time left on the clock before the alarm sounds, press the Cook Time and Ready Time buttons simultaneously.

If you are interested, to set the time of day, press the Cook Time button and the Ready Time button simultaneously. Then use the Plus and Minus buttons to set the required time.

To set the Minute Minder, press the Minute Minder button, then use the Plus button to set the required time. You can cancel the minute minder at any time by pressing the Minute Minder button and the Minus button until the display returns to 0.00.

To select an alarm tone, press the Minus button to listen to the first tone. Release the Minus button and press it again to listen to the second tone etc. Releasing the Minus button after the tone has sounded will automatically select that tone.
