I just bought a radeon 7000 pci with DVI. When I plug in the card I have no monitor. I disabled the video device driver per the trouble shooting and same thing. If I put it back through the onboard VGA, it works fine.

So which video card do i need? i have 845gl motherboard . before installing this video card (rage XL 8mb pci) my pc plays videos and most 3d game very (even gta sanandreas) efficiently but now it is not...

Hi,

The ATI Rage XL 8MB PCI video card is a very old and low power video card.

PCI graphics cards are not as fast as AGP graphics cards so if your motherboard has an AGP slot (it's the slot closest to the CPU and is usually coloured brown) then that would give you better performance.

These days AGP has been superceded by PCI-Express but since your motherboard does not have a PCI-Express slot then the best graphics card for it would be something like this one:

http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/5416296/Sapphire-ATI-Radeon-HD-3850-512MB-DDR3-AGP-8X-Graphics-Card/Product.html

Hope this helps, please rate my answer :)

Hello xvanpersiex, these are "Full Specifications" of your [Graghis Card].
"Check this to the 'Specs' of the "Motherboard to see if it 'Supports' the Graphic Card?"
"Try 'disconnecting, and reconnecting' the "Graphis Card"
Verify that 'all' the "Connections" are "Tightly Inserted."
*Go to the Control Panel > Device Manager > AGP Graphic Card > Verify Installed? >
Update Driver! > Restart Computer"

"If this information helped? Return and give a "Helpful Rating," please!

Looking to upgrade my graphic card one last time. Currently running a RADEON X850 AGP 8x. Dell XPS, 3 GHz Pent4 w/875P chipset.(800MHz Bus Clock, 400MHz DDR, Hyper-threaded (2)-- I would like the highest...

I wouldnt know whether you just like ATI Graphics cards, or it was recommended for you. But I would still give you my straight forward advice, and this is : Go for NVIDIA Ge-FORCE graphics cards. Trust me, you would thank me for it later.
I didnt want to recommend a specific model for you though, because of our difference in country locations, but just try and get a high memory (like 256MB and above), NVidia Graphics card that is compatible with your system. Also check out the available slot on your system that you will use for it first before you go (So that you wont go and get an AGP slot card when you have just an open PCI Slot). I'm telling you this because I've used A LOT of graphics cards also (Over 10 years now)! and I've come to that conclusion that NVIDIA makes the best graphics card.
Hope this helps you out.
Goodluck!

Ati radeon 9550 agp with pinnacle pctv hd problem please help

Try to put it on another pci slot. if you are using the one right under the agp, then that is your culprit.  the agp and the top pci slot share video resources.  just put it on another pci slot, if you have to swap another non-video related card to the one just beneath the agp slot.  Hope this helps.

Graphics cards

Hi noxiney, you're MSI motherboard does have 1 opened AGP 8x4x slot. You can install & run the ATI Radeon X1650 PRO AGP. You can not run PCI-Express because there are no PCI-E slots on the board. There are PCI (White in color) on the board but the AGP slot is much faster than the PCI (White in color slots). The manual states the AGP card can only support 1.5volt video cards & not 3.3volt AGP cards. (Keep this in mind when looking for an AGP card).
Below is a link to a bunch of AGP 8x4x video cards. One or two include DDR2 memory. Carefull where you buy. Check the warranty. (Longer is better). The first one on the list would be compatible. Its not DDR2 but it does have 512MB of memory.
http://www.google.com/products?hl=en&q=AGP+ATI+Radeon+X1650+PRO&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=X&oi=product_result_group&resnum=1&ct=title

This card is 1.5v compatable.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3101648&CatId=318
& this is compatable.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1642902&CatId=318
Just remember, if the card can run both 8x & 4x it should support the 1.5volt needed to function on the MB.

Enjoy!

Intel P$ 1.8 mhz on a D845HV/D845WN board

Before removing your current card swap video outputs on the PC. If currently connected to the VGA output switch to the HDMI connector AT the video card. Use the HDMI to VGA adapter that came with the video card. Check & see if the display loads Pc starts. Taking the information directly from your motherboard manual pg. 25, your AGP video can only run at, AGP supporting 1.5 V 4X AGP cards. The 9600pro runs at 8x & it is not backwards compatible. (able to run at either 8x or 4x). You could run the Sappire ATI Radeon 256MB 9550 DDR AGP 4x/8x 1.5volt card.
Here is one site: http://www.colordrives.com/sapphire-ati-radeon-9550-256mb-ddr-agp-4x-8x-video-card---retail-box.html
When you do get the video card be sure to set your bios AGP to the correct size as listed in your manual pg. 109 subsection 4.4.7
I hope this helped.

ATI Radeon Saphire 9600Pro AGP Graphics Card

It appears that the mobo is AGP 8x, and this video card also appears to be AGP 8x - so you should be able to use it just fine.

Ati radeon 9600 video card

what you have the ATI card hooked up can you see the boot screen? If you can see that you might want to try going into safe mode and making sure your graphics settings aren't set beyond the capability of your monitor. If you can't see the boot screen then your card might be dead.
