Go to Epsons website on the internet and look for the "download drivers" area usually under Customer Service. Enter your product type, name and model number and download the driver you need. Save it to your computer and install it when finished downloading.
On the back of the Epson Perfection 1660 Photo there is a lever that shows a lock and a unlock by where you plug in the wire to the computer. It must be in the unlocked position otherwise it will make that loud clicking noise and not work. Hope this helps.
yes your original disk is setup for only like windows 98 xp nt vista not windows 7 all you have to do is go to epson.com and input your make and model printer then download the driver for windows 7! good luck!
Try going to the Epson website and search for your model number scanner and download and install the drivers.Check for the system requirements to make sure the drivers are compatible for win 7 though.Hope this works. Ken
I've just discovered that this means the "transportation lock" is on: at the back of the scanner, put the plastic switch into the 'unlock' position. See this Epson support page for more details.
The Epson scanner (about 8 yrs old) doesn't shut off when attached to an iMac w/the Leopard operating system. To "solve" the problem I bought a small desktop Canon LIDE 90 scanner that runs on 2.5 watts of power and uses 1 watt on standby mode. It appears that they all need to be unplugged to shut down the power.
