We need a new bread pan for our black and decker b1640 machine, black and decker does not make them anymore, does anyone know if another models bread pan will fit or where to buy a new/used one?

Most parts are discontinued and I can't find a parts diagram. This article is the most helpful one. It sounds like you need a new paddle so it fits the shaft better, or you have too many nylon washers and the shaft isn't sitting deep enough in the paddle. All my bread is made by hand, no machines and hand kneaded. The dough proves in the oven with just the light on. Breadmaking is fun.

Sound like you need new shafts or paddles and I know the paddles can cost $30 each. so think about a new model or buy one at a thrift store and try those paddle or use the machine. I got a great one for $10 . :)

Hi...The black gunk under the paddle seems to be caused by the sealed bearing located on the bottom of the bread pan. When this seal breaks the lubrication leaks out. It's a problem with the bread pan and not the machine. Seems the new machines cost more and are made with really cheap bread pans. I've had good luck with my Sunbeam and it's warranted for a year. Just my opinion....Hank

Hi, There is no seal replacement kit. You will need a new bread pan. Magic Chef is out of the Bread Machine business and if you find a used bread pan it will be expensive and who knows how long it will last. I suggest a new Sunbeam 5891 sold on Amazon. They are only $45.00 with free shipping. We own two and we really like them. Plus they come with a 1 year warranty. Hank (This is not a solicitation...just advise).

If you have had it a long time, and gotten alot of use out of it then I would just go to ebay and get a lightly used one there as it would cost you more to repair it than it would be worth and you would still have a very used machine. Ebay has deals on almost new to new machines for good prices, you might want to check those out befor making a decision.

This is common in all bread making machines. You can try taking the paddle out of the machine after the last kneading cycle and before final rise. (take bread pan out of machine to do this). Hank

I just bought a new b2250 machine from Zellers for $59 dollars, they also have the b2000 for the same price. It's not worth your time to mess around trying to fix these things.
