Hitachi CML174SXW B randomly goes black

For the past 2 years, my monitor (Hitachi CML174SXW B) will just randomly goes black, but the green light is still on, and the only way I can get a picture to come back is to turn the monitor off, then back on.

When I first turn the monitor on in the morning, it comes on then after a few seconds it goes black, I will have to turn it off then on several times to get it to stay on, and several times throughout the day it will just go black and I will have to turn it off then on to get a picture. This is EXTREMELY frustrating. Other than that its a great monitor. I would appreciate any help for this problem.

My solution was to buy a new monitor. It lasted a reasonable lifespan.

Same issue, the condition has deteriorated to the point where it only stays on for seconds after I toggle the power or not at all. I've had the monitor for at least 5 years and I think I paid about $500 - I expected better than $100/yr =^(

Have you noticed if the monitor gets hot before it turns off?

Please, don't open a monitor and try to repair it yourself. It can be very dangerous and it's not worth getting injured.

NOT COMING ON. IS D16 AND D17 NEED REPLACED THERE SMALL AND BLACK .BECAUSE ON ANOTHER BROAD THERES THESE 4 TINY GREEN LIGHTS D15,D16,D17,D18 ONLY D15AND D18 ARE LIGHTING UP

It sounds like a Hitachi--black diodes not the issue--the green ones if Hitachi (how about a model number?) monitor voltages, if they are not lit it means a voltage is not there---look to see if more than 4 green leds and to see if any not lit.

The DELL E172FPb LCD Monitor (switch light flicks green)scr black

hi, extremely common problem for dell 17 in monitors. the capacitors and transistors on the power board internally have gone bad. to get repaired, it may cost 40-50 at a shop. i have repaired these in the past and they always come out well for at least 3 more years. may want to find another monitor though. if you would like steps on how to repair, let me know and i will find my old repair threads to give to you.

Laptop monitor goes black

If you're working on the computer when that happens, it's not probably a power setting. Try to update your BIOS to the most current version at the toshiba support website (support.toshiba.com) & see what happens. Fixes the issue most of the time

I hope this helps.

Hitachi 50v500 goes black and then comes back on.

Sounds like the light engine. They are having major problems with it, but Hitachi is replacing the part for free, with you paying for the installation. Need to call Hitachi customer relations.

Monitor goes black

If U can see the cursor then your monitor is fine, the culprit is your graphics card. It could be a virus, or a driver error. Try installing the drivers and check for viruses, if no help then Your graphic card is the most likely fault

Flashes on then goes black

The green light only lets you know there is a valid video signal reaching the monitor. If the green light was not "on" your problems would possibly be within the pc itself. Something is not holding the circuit for the backlight "on" thus going black. Suggestions are: 1. Take it to get it repaired (if not under warranty) Hyundai carries a 3 yr warranty on this monitor. Website provided. 2. Buy a new monitor http://www.hyundaiq.com/Eng/Customer/CusSvc/Csvc.asp
