How do i clean print heads hp 1410? I on longer have any original software cds so can't find any menu to ask it to clean! thanks

lost the original installation Cd of HP

A printer scans only when the full feature driver is installed. Unit will print normally with the help of inbult windows print driver. However to scan using the unit, a supporting software is required.

To resolve youe issue, please downlaod and install the full feature driver software from the following HP web link:

Hi there,

Some printers have fixed printing heads (like epson) Other brands like HP have heads integrated in the print cartridge. When you buy new ones the print heads are new as well. The problem with fixed heads is they tend to get stuck after a while usually after a long unused period. Once they are clogged the cleaning method will no longer fix the problem and you get a tiny line where the ink no longer flows.I once opened my epson when I had this problem to get to the print heads. Using Isoprophyl Alcohol in a syringe you can reach all the inner parts and clean it with cloth. Buy some latex gloves and plastic foil because this is a very messy job. Once cleaned you have to screw everything back on to see if this worked. Use the software driven cleaning method until you get a good test page. If this wont work you're in the market for a new printer.

That means that the software driver must be re-installed.

Before starting driver setup unplug printer usb, the software installer will tell you when to connect the printer.

If you are using Vista , also start driver setup by clicking right button of mouse on installer file and chosing 'run as administrator'.

hp.com then click on drivers and downloads tab, next enter the model number of your printer in the box, then pick your operating system, then download and install. good luck!

HOW TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS

Try uninstalling all of the PCS 1410 software. Got HP and download the latest software & install. Check out the Patch & update software.

print heads are built into the ink cartridges on HP's. I currently have this problem with another hp model. I appears that the firmware is stuck in what is called 'econo mode' and won't come out of it. good luck. sorry not more help.

please let me know what is rail and carriage bushings ?
