Dlink solutions Hi there i am trying to connect to my modem router via my dlink DI-624, so i connected the DI-624 to my modem/router and the signal came through fine. It told me i was connected but also said i had "no status". Basically i have internet through the dlink ethernet cable but it will not pick it up through the WAN port. do you have any suggestions. I am running a powerbook G4 which should be relatively easy to connect with. Hear from you soon. Simon

Most of these routers have a reset button, try that and restart both your modem and the router. Please note that resetting the router will bring it back to factory default and your wireless may not be encrypted, thus you will need to go to the router settings in the form of 192.x.x.x, log in, and then encrypt your signal. I have tried to be as clear as possible and if you have any question please feel free to ask.Good luck.

DLink wireless router will not connect to internet we have a new modem, tried connecting through a cable, and wireless, tried new cables, rebooting, resetting and all standard procedures. Is there...

It's the modem, not the wireless router that is the problem.
The modem must have the proper account name & password for it to work.

Test:
Connect a computer directly into the modem (without router). The modem has an Ethernet connector. If you can't get Internet by connecting a computer directly to the modem, then you will never get the router to work.
Contact your ISP. They may not give you the account name / password, but instead do a service call to your location.

Cannot connect our replaced xbox live to internet via router although it connects directly from modem.

Call your Xbox manufacturer and asked them about the port# that needed to be open on your router. Once you have the port# asked your dlink manufacturer to opent the said port for your xbox.

DLink DI-624s - can't get Cisco VPN Client to connect.

The "Virtual Server" setting is designed to give the general public access to a network resrouce (web/ftp/media server) on your internal network. If your the VPN concentrator is external to your network (meaning you'll have to use the internet to connect to it), then you won't need to define a virtual server on the DI-624.

You'll just need to enable the IPSEC and PPTP VPN Passthrough which it sounds like you've already done this. I've run into some ISP's that block VPN connections out of their network. If you have the ability, try to directly connect your laptop into your cable/DSL modem in place of your router and see if you can make a VPN connection, if not contact your ISP, if you can then verify you enabled the VPN passthroughs because your router is blocking them.

GIve it a shot and let us know your results.

Di-624 stopped working

Hi sailaway!
. Make sure the router is going from the modem, to the port marked WAN, on the 624. You can test the cable, by plugging it directly into you computer, from the modem, if you want to. Disconnect the power from your modem, your router, and turn off your computer Wait 1 min. Turn on the Router, wait three full min's. Power up the 624, and wait one min. Power up the PC. Reason for the long wait on the modem is that it has to get data from the internet, to give to the router. If that don't hwlp, try changing the cable from the PC to the router, to a different port. If all that don't work, try resetting the router by gentley pressing a straightened out paperclip into the reset hole in the back. Hold it for 30 sec. If that fail resetting it, try holding it in while you unplug the 624 and plug it back in. If it resets, go thru the first steps to set it up again. If all that fails, your 624 may be bad. Had that happen to me. The steps I listed brought it back to life for about 2 months, and it died completely. Good Luck!
