My Rock Mobile Disk Drive is not working. Every time I connect it to my computer, the red light flashes and after a while of clicking, I get an error message screen that says "The specified I/O operation on \Device\Harddisk1\DR18 was not completed before the time-out period expired."

My flash drive does not show up on my computer and the red light won't stop blinking.

I had the same problem for weeks and I couldn't figure out why it would work on my personal laptop but not my work PC.

My problem was that the Flash drive was using "H:" as the drive letter and I already had "H:" assigned to a network share. The computer obviously recognized it because it appeared in the Disk Management, but it was assigned to H: and the PC already had "H:" connected to my share. I could have just changed the drive assignment for the flash drive to another letter and restart the PC as previously mentioned but I was in the middle of working on something and restarting my PC wasn't the best thing to do at the time. I decided to try to disconnect my "H:" network share and reconnect it using a different drive letter ("J:" in my case). After doing that I reconnected the flash drive and it opened fine under "H:"

Just another option to look into.

When I turn on my ipod shuffle & hit play it blinks green and orange several times and won't play

The Apple iPod shuffle is a digital music player that contains a single indicator light that relays information about the device's battery condition, computer connection and any errors the device is having. The indicator light is capable of blinking red, green or orange as well as displaying a steady red, green or orange light. The iPod Shuffle includes a Universal Serial Bus interface and buttons on the front of the device for controlling music files.

Blinking Orange A blinking orange light indicates the iPod Shuffle is receiving an update via iTunes to the device's internal components. The update could include a patch to repair an error the player encountered once before, an update to the player's file-saving software, or a combination of security, repair and software updates. Updates are free and automatically sent directly from Apple through iTunes to your iPod shuffle before a sync process starts. Disconnecting iPod Shuffle When the player's light is blinking orange, do not unplug the device from your computer's USB port this will stop the update process and possible corrupt the device's internal hard drive. Let the update process and sync process finish before clicking "Eject" within iTunes and removing the player. Disk Use Enabled If you use your iPod Shuffle as a flash drive and not as a music player, a blinking orange light means that the device is connected to your computer and ready to accept files. The "Disk Use" enabled setting is changeable within iTunes if you decide to use your iPod Shuffle for music storage instead of file storage. When set up as a flash drive, the iPod Shuffle is assigned a drive letter by your computer's operating system and the drive lets you "drag and drop" files to the device. b> Charging If your iPod shuffle's battery is completely depleted or low on charge, connect the player to your computer immediately for charging then leave it connected to receive any updates to the device's software and internal components. Its indicator light may or may not blink orange until after it is fully charged. If the battery is low on charge or completely depleted, you may receive an error stating that the iPod is corrupt or needs restoring, close the error message and let the device fully charge.

I have a serial ATA mobile disk drive, model # HD-338-SSC. My computer no longer recognizes the device and the power button on the device now displays a red light, next to the standard green light. I tried...

The disk-drive inside the enclosure has "failed".
Open the enclosure, remove the disk-drive, and take it to any computer-store, to buy a compatible replacement. Install the replacement disk-drive.

There exist commercial "data recovery" services that can try to repair your device, just long-enough to rescue and copy your files. For example, see: https://services.seagate.com/index.aspx?lng=en-US for a "no data - no charge" guarantee.

I have a mini mac and an external Rock Mobile Disk. It flashed red and green constantly and my computer cannot find it. I have changed computers( another mini) and ubs cords. Rich

Make sure the cable is fitted securely at both ends. Check to see if another usb device works on the same port. If the drive uses a "Y" usb cord (one usb into the drive and two into the laptop) Make sure the replacement cord you use to test is a "Y" cord as well. Open Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility. Check to see if a second hard drive is listed on the left hand side. Is the drive mounted? If not then select it and click the mount button at the top. If there isn't a second hard drive listed you could try removing the hard drive that is inside the case and hook it up to a "IDE/SATA to USB" hard drive adapter and plug it in. Instructions on where to find and how to use these adapters can be found on google. Sometimes the electronics inside the case can go bad and using another case or adapter with the hard drive can make a difference.

8gb TDK trans-it flash memory is invisible

Hello,

You can try this out:
After powering up your system, and you have plugged the flash drive, then Right-Click on my computer icon, select manage, then go to Disk Management Option.

On the Disk management option Page you should see ALL the drives installed on your system, including the hidden ones, so what you will just do is, try and locate the one representing your flash drive, and right click on it. then select "Change Drive letter and Paths", and give the drive any new, unique letter (i.e alphabet) different from the ones already on your system, and click on OK.

This should make your Flash Drive to be detected automatically.

Kindly keep me posted about the problem

Hope this helps you out.

Goodluck!

try reloading the drivers, might have to run a search for the product and delete all softwere first, but just try to reload drives and go from there. If nether of these work it may be a registry error wich I can help with but lets try this first.

DISK ERROR WHEN I TRY TO USE MP3

I had the same issue and just connected the device to my computer USB connection and performed a quick format on the drive and it now works. You will be warned that reformatting the drive will erase all the data, which will happen. But you can simply reload your music and be back in business... Rod
