Buy a reel of Desolder Braid, that will allow you to remove multiple solder pins by desoldering each one in turn. A solder ****** will work but modern pcboards tend to have very thin copper and will be destroyed very easily.
Hope this helps.

Screen colors jumble after one or two minunits of warm up. Can the bulbs be adjusted or does some other service need to be done?? Thanks, Bill Ormerod

Most likely one of the two STK-392-120 convergence chips is going bad, both will need to be replaced (seen this in several of these sets) and if you have some skill it can be a do it yourself repair.

If you are handy and can solder (the chips each have 18 pins) the parts on EBAY will be under 20 dollars.

Let me know if you have questions.

I have a Philips 60" with a convergence problem.

info20999,

You need to use the exact chips that are in your unit. Any other ones would cause bigger problems and not work. The number is on the IC and from what you have said you must have already identified them. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4220499-change_projection_tv_convergence_ics which explains in detail how to change the units. You will need very good soldering skills and equipment. Also an attention to detail couldn't hurt. It can be done but be concientious and methodical. Leave nothing to chance and your repair should turn out great.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating. Great ratings will keep experts helping everyone solve their problems. Thank you.

I need to replace the divergence chips on my 60PP9202 projection TV. What are the stock numbers for the chips? Are the STK392-110?

With the back off look from the back to the far left side: two metal heat sinks side by side with fins---chips are bolted to them and will have either STK-392-120 OR -110 ON THEM. There are a few versions where it is one large heat sink on far right side as view from back.

Best place to get the chips: On EBAY select advanced search, then search by seller: sewsales55 is the one I buy from---a pair of the chips will cost less than 14 dollars.

This is a convergence problem and can be repaired by replacing the two STK-392-120 convergence chips and adjusting the set with the original remote control

Is there any ic to relpace or change stk 392120

There is another but I do not recommend doing it. You are better to stay with the Original STK-392-120 CHIPS, the real reason they fail is the heat sink grease to transfer heat dries out---

A pair of the chips on Ebay is about 12 dollars.

If you need information about how to replace them let me know.

Convergence problem with Philips 60PP9352

You have a convergence problem. Here are some of the most common symptoms.

Screen looks 3D
One or more colors can't be adjusted when when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed in but stationary.

Solution:
You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for your exact model. The kit inlcludes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, etc. Everything you need to fix it yourself. Its an easy fix.
