I have a toshiba satellite pro 4600 - no power at the display or lights - the power supply is working?

The Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 is a model series.

Hazardous? In what way? Solder joints containing lead?

I don't have an exact Service Manual to give to you. But if you look through these, you should be able to find enough information to disassemble your laptop.

There is not so much that could be done to repair a keyboard. Disassemble the laptop, check the ribbon cable connecting the keyboard to the motherboard. If the ribbon cable is loose, tighten it. If it is tight, replace the keyboard with a new one

This sounds sucky, but you may have a power-supply issue. Especially if you have had to repeatedly press the power-button. If the laptop is new, call Toshiba and see if it's under warranty. If not, find a local computer tech to test your power-supply. This problem is less common nowadays, but still an issue for some!

of the laptop.It willl be indicated with the
red symbol on it.
