CTo reset the BIOS read the information from this link.

In case of your Acer laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery or the jumper.

    Many people who want to reset the bios are locked out. Without the bios password Hiren's is useless.

    If you are locked out, then unfortunately you have to open up the laptop and pull out the CMOS battery or if there is a jumper, reset the jumper.

2009 made,
the coin cell battery is dead, on that day #3 above and not BIOS lies to you. understand the gravity of that?

Changed hard drive on emachine e725 now says no bootable device insert boot disk. dont have boot disk
You will need to install the operating system on the new hard drive for it to boot.Also you need to set you're boot order in the bios to CD then the HARD DRIVE.Get the operating system set the bios boot order then install it.
