SOURCE: i am trying to connect my sansa sandisk e250.

I don't know how different the software is in the africa version of the E 250 (i have one in america though) and there is a work-around for older computers (windows XP and lower). Turn on your player, go to settings, and scroll down until you see "USB mode". Try selecting MSC instead of MTP then connect. If that doesn't help, then go to the offical website and download the drivers from them.

Sansa e280 won't upload my photos. Do I need media manager or something?

You need to use the Sansa Media Converter to convert pictures to a format the Sansa can handle. They also need to go into the internal memory, as the e280 will not display pictures from a microSD card.
