Hi fidelis_igin,

The Computer comes with a recovery partition present in the hidden partition of the Hard Drive. You can use this Recovery Partition to restore the Computer to the factory status. The Recovery Partition can be accessed using the VAIO Recovery Center Software installed in the Computer or by pressing and holding the F10 Key while restarting the Computer. Below are the steps to access the Recovery Partition in the Computer and to perform the System Recovery in the Computer.

Using VAIO Recovery Center.

To access the VAIO Recovery Center, click Start, Help and Support and click the "Troubleshoot my VAIO" option. Then, in the opened window, under VAIO Recovery Center, click Launch VAIO Recovery Center. After that, in the VAIO Recovery Center, click "Restore C: Drive" option to restore the Computer to the factory defaults. (Selecting the Restore C: Drive will erase all the Data in the computer and restore the Computer to the factory defaults). Once you have selected the "Restore C: Drive" option, please click the "Start" button, then, please follow the onscreen instructions to complete the Recovery Process.

Using F10 Key at the Start-up.

Please restart the Computer, press and hold the F10 Key for 7 to 10 seconds. Then, at the Edit Boot Options screen, press the Enter Key. This will launch the VAIO Recovery Center. Then, you can select the Restore C: Drive and go with on screen instructions to complete the System Recovery.

Hi, own a Sony Vaio VGN P530H with hardisk Toshiba MK6028GAL damaged. as forced to replace unit, wonder could install a higher capacity? Brand & model if available please!!! thanks to all of you!!!

The VAIO VGN-T350 is a notebook computer designed and distributed by Sony.
The hard drive on your Sony VAIO VGN-T350, which is the unit that stores data, consists of many clusters of data that can be rewritten with new data.
If you are looking for a memory capacity upgrade, or if your old hard drive is having errors, it's time for an upgrade.
Upgrading the hard drive on your Sony VAIO will require the use of a screwdriver and will take you about 30 minutes to complete.

Turn off your Sony VAIO VGN-T350 and remove the power cord and any other peripheral components.
Turn over your Sony VAIO VGN-T350 and locate the hard drive chamber on the bottom of your laptop. It will be clearly labeled.

Use the screwdriver to remove the screw holding the lid in place.
Gently lift the hard drive and its cage away from your laptop and disconnect the data cord.
Remove the four screws located at the corners, and then remove your old hard drive from its cage.
Place your new internal laptop hard drive into the cage and replace the screws.
Connect the data cord to your new hard drive and place your new hard drive into its chamber.
Close the lid and replace the screw to complete the operation.

I forgot my sony vaio bios password

Remove the battery, remove the power cord and start taking the laptop apart. You will need to remove the CMOS battery located on the motherboard and let it sit for an hour or two. Then but it all back together. The CMOS battery is a silver battery about the size of a nickel.

I want to do a factory reset of my Sony Vaio net-book as I plan on selling it. Can you please advise how this is done?

    Hi!
To restore your computer to factory default you can do this: Turn the computer on. While the computer is turning on, keep tapping F12 on your keyboard. System recovery partition will open. choose restore your operating system. Wait for the process to complete. The computer will restart by itself.
***Note: Doing this will delete everything that you have said in your computer. back up your files before doing this.***
Hope this can help. Take care.
