Goldair GD2005 dehumidifier. It starts and stops, runs for 1 sec, stops, and the power light flashes. You can hear the relay cycling as it starts and stops.

Question edited for a lot more clarity, add maker, fix English.

It sounds like a refrigeration issue like low gas. There are various idea here, but you probably need to drop it off at a refrigeration service centre.

Hello, I need a dehumidifier of 50pint or more that stop when the humidity level is reach and will restart when is too high. I look for a lot of brand and model and I cannot find one thanks for your...

The fifty pint capacity might be a challenge ... think about this ... 6 + gallon tank @ 7+ pounds per gallon ... 42 pounds of water to drag from the dehumidifier to the drain? Who is going to do that?

All dehumidifiers run at some % of humidity (via Humistat), (like you are asking about) i.e. come on at some % above the setting and go off when the setting is reached. I suggest you find one that has a standard one or two gallon tank that also features a hose connection in the tank. Run the hose from the tank to the floor drain in your basement or a drain near what ever room you are trying to dry out. When you connect the hose --- you will have to put a hole into the fitting on the tank for water to flow. The idea of the tank is that the machine will run on the setting until the tank fills up ... at which time the tank full switch will not allow the machine to run again until you dump the water (and you want to drag a 6+ gallon tank, 42+ pounds, around?) . If there is a hose attached, the tank never fills up.

Some dehumidifiers feature a pump to which will pump the water to a near-by drain. You may be able to rig such a setup yourself using a small pump like a fish pond pump or similar.

You may want to consider using two dehumidifiers (with or without hoses) rather than one BIG machine. I run two machines from a major USA retailer (one in each end of the basement) and they run into the near by sump and the system works fine @ my house. Thanks for your

Compressor stops at proper humidity % but the fan keeps running.

Dehumidifiers are built that way. They keep moving air so it is able to keep any change of conditions moving around the room. On a dehumidifier, it the fan stops, your unit will short cycle becasue water will naturally evaporate from the water tank and it would turn on, then off, then on then off. The way it runs now is fine. Running the fan 24 hours on your dehumidifier cost nickels a day. Just let run.

Zenith ZD30 dehumidifier - 1 1/2 years old stopped working had a half bucket oc colledted water in bucket when it stopped. I checked the fuse on the circuit board and have continuity.

Unplug from wall. Take the front cover off and disconnect the 2 wires that attach to the humidity control dial. Plug back in. If it works, the problem is the humidty control dial (mine just went bad). With it unhooked, it will run constantly, but will still turn off when the bucket is full. To turn off, simply unplug.
