My pc beeps when stars and the does not start completly it continues to give that beeping and the monitor does not display anything

The beeps in your computer at boot up mean that there is an hardware.
Every number and lenght of beep is a code that indicates where the error is. You should refer to your producers webpage to "translate" the code in the cause of boot failure

Will not power on

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((MOTHERBOARD TO THE HARD DRIVE))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error hope this helps

I AM TROUBLESHOOTING AN EMACHINE MODEL W3410 AMD ATHLON THAT JUST CONTINUES A LONG REPEATING BEEP AT BOOT AND AM NOT RECIEVING SIGNAL TO MONITOR. IS IT MEMORY OR VIDEO . CAN'T GET A CLEAR TOPIC FOR THE...

Almost always indicative of a RAM memory problem. Troubleshoot by removing 1 stick of memory and rebooting. Switch sticks to determine if either stick of memory is bad or a bad bank on the motherboard.

Hi shreepad,

Those sound like you have a bad memory chip DRAM or it may not be seated correctly. The beep code of 1 long beep, also indicates a bad memory chip. If you have two or more, take one out and until you find the one that's bad. Then replace it.

Good Luck

On boot up the emachine now beeps every 5 seconds

Reboot with "F8" held down.
you are only booting to bios and minimum disk software. This may give you an indication of your monitor or video driver status.

If you can borrow another monitor from someone, that would confirm your monitors status....

Short but rapid beep code when powering up emachine

The beep code most likely is either video card or memory.
If you have a video card or can borrow one that you know it works try it first, if that doesn't resolve your issue try the memory.
You can take the memory out and have it tested to see if it is defective.
Go to this site and get the Beep Codes, http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm
I hope this helps.
Good Luck.

AU31 Board

Do you hear the system POST (Power On Self Test). In layman's terms that's when the system beeps and does a systems check. If you don't here this, the motherboard is usually dead. It could be another component though.

So, if you disconnect everything externally and internally down to the CPU and a few RAM chips (only what's required to do a POST) and a keyboard, to then see if it POSTs.

If it doesn't POST, then, if possible, try a new CPU, RAM, and Keyboard, other than this, you would replace the motherboard.

If it POSTs, you need to let us know how far it gets in the boot process and what error messages appear. If the boot is short of successful, you can still do the same things listed above to see which component is failing. The replace it. A process of elimination.
