As I Purchased a New Nikon Collpix (S3000) camera, shopkeeper advised me to charge it up 7 hours before the use. As I started charging, Indicator was blinking to show charging, after 10 minutes, it was putt off that is meaning NO CHARGING. I plug out and again plug IN, charging was started again, Same thing happened again, after few minutes charging was stopped automatically. I considered that may be charging is completed. I start to use but after few pictures battery was depleted. I am worry about this. Please tell me why not camera is getting CONTINOUS CHARGING unless battery is completely charged.

Contact Nikon tech support at www.nikon.com to see what they advise. You may have to replace the battery. If you have a backup battery try it. I have had a similar problem occur on my D-90 and have had to recharge the battery even though it had been on the charger over three hours and the indicator light said it was charged.
When I installed it in the camera, the battery indicator said it was not charged. After I charged it again, it worked fine.
If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.
Have you updated the firmware? According to Nikon, when the Rechargeable Li-ion Battery EN-EL10 is inserted in the camera and charged, charging sometimes did not stop after the designated amount of time had passed. Usually, you'll receive the message "Battery Exhausted" if this is the problem... but you could also have a completely dead camera as well.
See Nikon's website, download updated firmware to your camera and install a NEW battery. http://support.nikonusa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16873
Greetings - The indicator that is displayed on page 22 of the manual is the only battery indicator in the camera. There is no real time "gauge" of battery status.
As indicated, there is only battery charged (no display), battery low indicator and battery exhausted indicator. You'll find very few (if any) consumer grade point and shoot cameras with that level of monitoring.
Sounds like you somehow put the camera in "airplane" mode which keeps the camera from interfering with the electronics on an airplane. Change the mode.
The rechargeable battery probably needs to be replaced, I would take it to a camera shop let him have a quick look to make sure the charge light is coming on and try a new battery.
