I'm connecting to a tv with a VGA cable from my Acer netbook. My tv says No Signal. Windows makes the "ba dum" sound when I connect/disconect the cable, but under my display settings, it doesn't show the TV as a monitor. I have two monitor choices (1 identifies as the netbook's screen, I don't know what 2 is) that do not change when I plug in the VGA cable. help please?

Don't forget that the TV source or input needs to be set to "PC". Once that is done turn the netbook OFF, then plug the VGA cable into the netbook and start the computer. The computer screen should automatically show up on the TV.

Acer netbook sound not working when connecting tv

LOL, nope, that's the way it works. The sound will come from the netbook. If you want the sound to come from the TV you will need to run a audio cable out of the Netbook's Headphone Jack to the RCA input Jacks on the TV.

Bascially you will need a cable with a 3.5mm Stereo Male end for the Netbook headphone Jack and the other end will have 2 RCA Male for the TV's Audio Jack.

You can buy them at:
http://www.cablewholesale.com

just look for audio cables
3.5mm Stereo Male to 2 RCA Male

They are real cheap 6 ft. less than $2.00, 12 ft. less than $3.50
You can get 25ft or 50ft also

I have an Acer one aspire but cannot link this to my HD tv, I have bought a VGA to component cable but it will not display image even though I press the FN key and F5. it works on a smaller TV via VGA to...

A VGA to Component cable is used only in special monitors - it won't work on tv's because the signal is completely different between them and the tv can't decode it: in the VGA you have an RGB signal with separate synchro while in the Component you have a Luminance signal with integrated synchro and 2 colour difference ones. So a converter is mandatory , one like

What cord do I need to connect my acer notebook to the t.v for netflix

this is pretty easy. Since you're acer aspire doesn't have an HDMI out port, then you're gonna need a VGA cable to connect your acer's video signal to the TV.

This cable should do: http://www.amazon.com/10ft-Resolution-mo...

Now, since it's not HDMI, you won't get audio coming out the TV, only your laptop. But if you want audio out your tv, all you'll need is audio cable, which you can connect to the headphone jack (audio out) and then into the AUDIO IN jack on your tv.

the audio cable: http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Unlimited-A...

After this, just hook it up while your tv is turned on, switch to the VGA channel on your tv, and a window should come up on your tv asking you to configure the settings. For audio go to the control panel while the audio cable is hooked up, go to sound settings, and switch the default audio to speakers, or headphones, im not so sure what it is on a netbook

What cable do i need to connect netbook to my tv?

You need a VGA cable typically or maybe even a HDMI cable it depends on the connections your TV AND your netbook have. Typically you will use VGA though thats how mine is connected. Once you have it set up though do not forget about sound. VGA does not send sound through your speakers on your TV. You will need seperate speakers or an audio input on your tv through your netbooks head phone jack.

Ebay sells they for pretty cheap I would look there first.

LIke this if it helped YOU!!!! Please!

Connecting my netbook to my tv

Hi

You will need a male to male, 15 pin D-SUB VGA cable to connect the webbook to the TV. You also have to make sure that your television supports such a connection. If not and it has side AV then you can get a male to RCA VGA cable.

Then you will need an audio cable as VGA does not carry a an audio signal. You will need a male to male mini stereo jack.

Connect the VGA cable to your computer and then to the TV. Then plug the audio jack into the headphones socket of the webbook and to the PC IN or audio in on the TV.

Turn the webbook on and if you have to use the Fn key and one of the F keys to switch screens (it usually does it automatically but the keys are usually between F4 and F7)

Regards.
