Nikon COOLPIX P6000 Digital Camera Logo
Posted on Nov 09, 2010

I have been having problems getting sharp pictures. Especially indoors. I have the cool pix 6000 and reset all my settings to the factory settings. My pictures indoors seem almost "filtered"...not sharp at all. I took some pics outside and they are great. Shouldn't the auto setting adjust to take great pics inside and out?? Any help would be appreciated.

Try turning ON the "Anti Shake AE", also, try using "fill-in" flash mode.

When I take outdoor pictures they are all whited out. I can still take indoor pictures and they seem to turn out okay.

Sometimes the internal settings can affect this.
Go to the menus.
Then find a setting which is something like:
Return to factory settings or,
Reset all to Default or,
Many of these point and shoot Canons have settings:
func. set: Make sure it is not set to some setting for inside, florescent, etc. These will affect the bright settings.
Also, if there is no reset for default factory settings, then go through all the menus, including the ones in the Func. Set. -- Usually in the "joy-stick" center.

Try to reset camera to manufacturers settings. You can find this in
the setup options. It would say reset or initialize. If this doesn't solve your problem
then its probably a sensor problem and will need to be replaced.

I own cannon G9. I fail to get good sharp open outdoor pictures at night especially in place not well lighted. Do I all the time have to take pictures Manually to get sharp pictures as we do with focus...

If you have tried using the auto setting and it is still doing the blurry pictures it sounds like a problem with your camera not the settings themselves.
This blog http://www.teleplancamerarepair.com/camera-repair-blog/post/Got-Blurry-Pictures-Blurry-Image.aspx suggests a couple of the reasons might be:
"When your image appears distorted and with altered colors, in most of the cases there are two possible reasons:
- The internal shutter gets stuck , does not open completely or
-
The image sensor is damaged.... "

This sounds like a battery issue. Make sure the battery is fully charged and make sure that your charger is working.
