You need to use a regular RCA type audio cable. White and red connectors. The HDMI cable won't pass audio.

The SMPS section is not oscillating. Your TV need a through checkup. If you are not familiar with electronics, do not attempt to repair. Whether you suffer fatal electric shock. Instead, contact any experienced service technician, or the nearest service center.

If the tv was moved it may have a loose cable...you can get remotes for way less than that.

This set does not have a vertical hold control etc---try to explain what the set is doing or not doing so I or another expert can help you.

98% chance one of the two pico fuses that protect the convergence circuit is blown.

Repair entails replacing the two STK-394-250 CHIPS AND THE BLOWN FUSE.

This may or may not be a do it yourself repair.

your dose not use lamp, it is a crt driven TV . One of com problems for that model was loose connection on one of the yokes. When that normaly happens , there is a sudden flash and screen gose dark and sometimes it can flash back if not you get red light blinks. If you you know where the yokes are at check little small board . A small mirror will come in handy, access from front of TV. adios ... john
