Looks like you need to set your overflows from HG1 to HG2 then to extension xxx.I'd set the delay from 12 to 15 seconds.

Since we use CCR do we need to do something to make HG1 active?

  • george peters

You could make the HG a path in the CCR or change the greeting to add " for _____ press 625" or something like that.

  • bdorris Nov 09, 2010

For some reason the previous programming (which I assumed was a hunt group) causes 5 of our phones to ring simultaneously, and I can't figure out how to remove that one. In the list of hunt groups there are only two (628 and 629 on HG01 and HG02), which I set up. If I dial my 628 hunt group from the CCR it still rings all 5 phones simultaneously.

Did you delete the 5 members from the group? Also check for answer DN keys on those sets to see if there set up on the same answer DN.

  • bdorris Nov 10, 2010

Thank you! The former setup was using Answer DNs instead of Hunt Groups. I also didn't realize the **config had 2 passwords: admin and config. The options I needed were only visible when I used the config password.

My Extension Line Keeps flashing NEC DT400

Try 751 as the code. You can also try unplugging the main control box at the end of the workday for 10 minutes and plug it back in. This might remove temporary programming.

Comdial edge 120 incoming call handling help

It seems like you're trying to configure a phone system or a specific phone to have incoming calls ring on multiple extensions simultaneously or forward to another extension if not answered. The exact steps can vary depending on the phone system or model you're using. If you provide more details about the phone system or model, I can offer more accurate instructions. In the absence of specific information, here's a general guide on how you might achieve this:
**For Most Phone Systems:**
1. **Ring All Extensions:**
- Log in to the phone system's administration interface.
- Locate the call forwarding or call distribution settings.
- Look for options related to "Hunt Group," "Ring Group," "Call Distribution," or similar terms.
- Create a group that includes the extensions you want the incoming calls to ring on.
- Assign the group a number or label.
- Configure incoming calls to be forwarded to the assigned group number or label.
2. **Forward After Rings/No Answer:**
- Within the same settings area, look for options related to "Call Forwarding" or "Follow Me."
- Configure the settings to forward calls to another extension or voicemail after a certain number of rings or if there's no answer.
**Example for Asterisk-based Systems (such as FreePBX):**
1. **Ring All Extensions:**
- Log in to the FreePBX administration interface.
- Create a Ring Group.
- Add the extensions you want to include in the group.
- Set the Ring Strategy to "Ringall" or "Ring All Available."
- Specify the Ring Time (how long it should ring on each extension).
- Save the settings.
2. **Forward After Rings/No Answer:**
- Create a Follow Me setting.
- Add the destination extension(s).
- Set the Ring Time (how many seconds it should ring).
- Configure the Follow Me List to go to the next destination if there's no answer.
- Save the settings.
Please note that terminology and options might differ based on your phone system's manufacturer and model. It's important to consult your phone system's documentation or seek help from your IT department or phone system administrator if you're not familiar with the settings or if you're dealing with a complex setup.
Keep in mind that making changes to a phone system's configuration can impact its functionality, so it's a good practice to do so during non-peak hours or with proper testing to ensure everything works as expected.

I have programmed a samsung dcs816 with ddi's allocating each one to a seperate group with a single extension in each but when the ddi's are rung ALL the phones ring no matter which setting i have the...

You should set the ddis on dcs816 to ring at the extention and not a group with only 1 member, this is much less complicated because groups can hunt for other groups if not answered. I have uploaded a video (of which there are lots on Youtube search abbeytel) which will help with this and other possible issues on the dcs816, or visit www.abbeytelecom.com , hope that you find this helpful.

Incoming calls goes to voicemail, then to receptionist. Also rings at three extensions at the same time.

It sounds like all the incoming calls are going to a hunt group. This would explain why three extensions ring, then it goes to the receptionist, and then ends up in voicemail.

Try looking for a hunt group that distributes to the three extensions in question, or that only has those 3 extensions active.

I set up Hunt Group 1 (290) on a CICS, w/6.1 softewre with A Call Pilot 100 and assigned & initialized mailboxes for each Hunt Group member (222, 223 & 224) to FNA to Voicemail (227) after 4 rings....

Without having the programming manual on hand for this switch I have to generalize from other switches. Double check your auto forward settings within your hunt groups. It sounds like you have auto forward set wrong. If you have the voice mail set to engage on the 4th ring try changing that to engage on the 6th ring with the forward within a hunt group to forward to next available on the 3rd ring, see if that helps.

1. Can it be programmed to ring2.gif all phones and if noone answers then go to extension 200 voicemail?
Yes, you need to browse to the gateways IP and look at the destination of the lines. If a single extension is the destination, you need to make a group, put all the phones in it, and then point the lines to that group.

2. Can you get rid of the dial 9 to get an outside line and just grab available line when handset is picked up?
No, unfortunately you can not.

3.How do you eliminate noise and echo in the background when on a call? Also has some bleeding over, someone else in the office could hear meon the phone when they were on the phone.
Make sure the gateway is grounded to a good ground. if the problem persists, you can try to upgrade the gateway and phones.

Need to turn off transfer callback on Norstar Meridian

Ok, well I can explain most of the programming template, but I cannot give you the exact buttons to push since each phone IS programmed differently.

-> first dial FEATURE 985 this will give you the DN(Extn) for the voicemail (record this number) and then RLS
-> now I need you to dial FEATURE 0 on your set, and press the Intercom key to ensure the extension of your set you want to change and then hit RLS.

To get into programming press FEATURE 2 6 6 3 4 4
-> Password: 2 6 6 3 4 4
Now you will see 3 arrows on your LCD
<- Heading Enter->
<- Back Next->

-> you will now see TERMINALS&SETS and press Enter (the top right arrow key) now put in the extn that you want to change.
-> you should now see the extension of the set and the name that is associated with it, press Enter (the top right arrow key) again
-> now you will see LINE ACCESS and press Next (the bottom right arrow)
-> then you will see CAPABILITIES and press Enter. now you will see FWD NO ANSWER and press Enter, and put in the DN of the voicemail you saw with the Feature 985
-> hit Next for the number of rings you want to ring at the set before going to voicemail.
-> hit next and you can now RLS to back out of programming.

Voila, that set once called will now goto voicemail.

-OR-

You can get the receptionist to dial FEATURE 9 8 6 and the extension to transfer directly to someone's voicemail.

Call pilot 100 hunt group

Not too sure if you really need that dial 0 point, since the calls are already ringing in on the receptionist desk.

You can create changes and make a hunt group, with an over flow with another hunt group, which will rings specific people, and if there is no answer the over flow can go to a voicemail or auto attendant... more programming than I would like to type.

Simple solution: Make sure that everyone that you want to answer the calls, they are in the same pick up group.

Then if the people that you want to answer hears the phone ringing, they just have to dial Feature 75, this is group pickup.

To find out if the people are in the same pick up group:
-> go into the system programming
-> TERMINALS&SETS and enter the extension
-> find CAPABILITIES and enter
-> hit next till you find Pickup grp: this will have a number and ensure that all the sets you want have this same number.
-> rls to back out of programming.

This way anyone that hears the phone ringing can answer anytime they want.
