Protron pltv-26 power board

The tv have a long board call the LCD inverter board.This long LCD inverter board is dead.This long LCD inverter board job is to help the LCD screen panel to have a backlight to produced a picture.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a long LCD inverter board for the replacement.

First place to look will be the power supply module, check the 5vdc standby voltage and all other voltages as well.

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look for 5vdc, 12vdc, and 24dvc.

The backlight inverter board may be going bad, or bad power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to.

It can either be the backlight inverter board or the power supply is not supply 24vdc to the inverter board.

Could be overheating or the power supply capacitors are crapping out which is commom especially in newer tv's

i have a protron lcd menu light keeps flashing but tv wont come on any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, Protron LCD's are very low quality, mine went out in 15months. Your problem may be similar to one I had & I fixed it by cycling the on/off switch next to where the power cord goes in the back of the TV. Also make sure the power cord is inserted right since the "yellow" light indicate powering up but not full power. Hope this fixes it since I couldn't find ANYONE that services/repairs PROTRON brand.
