I just bought a camcorder Panasonic SDR-H40P/PC and I cannot upload videos to my Mac. My computer download the still pictures from it but not the videos. How can this be resolved?
You can't transfer videos through USB. You will need a Firewire 6-pin cord and use it to connect from your MAC to the Camcorder. Only then you can transfer videos.
You can use iMovie.
Here is a tutorial on how to get AVC HD files off HD Video camera/camcorder to Mac
I've been having this problem but I worked it out and it can be done! I have a mac ibook, a few years old, with intel processors, and I couldn't get my new Panasonic SDR-H40P/PC to upload videos (or even for my mac to "see" the drive) . first thing i did was upgrade OS X from 10.5.5 to 10.5.6 from mac website. then, i upgraded iLife to 09 for the latest version of iMovie. then - here might have been the crux, which i didn't read or hear about elsewhere - I had to use the AC adaptor to the DC plug to the camcorder, not run it off the battery! Then, I plugged in the camcorder via USB and turned it to video playback. the camcorder's screen came on and I chose the hard drive... and voila - iMovie came up and I was able to upload all the videos... seems easy now, but epic figuring it all out... hope this works for you ---
Dunno if this would help but it did with me. I have the Panasonic HDC-SD20 video camera. I plugged in the DC cable that came with the camcorder into the charger, took off the battery and then plugged in my camcorder into my macbook with a USB cable. I opened my iMovie and from there I started uploading my videos. Hope it helps!

I have the same issue. I cannot seem to figure out how to upload my video from camcorder to Mac. You mentioned a firewire. Where do you connect this firewire-6 to the Mac? Through the earphone outlet? Thanks
I have the same problem. I just got this camera have great roller derby footage and now I am unable to upload I am sooo mad. this firewire u speak of where would it insert on both the mac.. and the camcorder?
I too just bought a panasonic H60p and just realized it won't connect to my MAC. i am so disapointed. It's a shame and i feel like Panasonic deliberately kept that useful piece of information somewhat conveniently hidden.
Hopefully the tip on buying a 6 pin firewire cable works.
