I tunes is not recognizing my iphone 4g its giving me always an error message iTunes.exe has been set to run in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows. For best results, turn off compatibility mode for iTunes before you open it. i'm having windows 7 64 bit i tried everything i tried to turn off the compatibility mode but the boxes are already unchecked i tried uninstall itunes and re-install it again but the same issue appears again PLEASE HELP

4.Right-click on the iTunes application (iTunes or iTunes.exe) and select Properties.
5. Next select the Compatibility tab.
6.Ensure that the options Run this program in compatibility mode and Run this program as an administrator are not checked. If they are checked please deselect these options, then select Apply, and OK. You should now be able to open iTunes with out receiving the error message about iTunes running in compatibility mode.

7. Open the Registry Editor by selecting the Windows Start button, typing regedit into the search box or the run box depending which OS your using eg- xp,vista,7 and then pressing Enter.
8. Browse to the following location in the registry editor, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers, and highlight the Layers folder.
9. Delete the entry for the iTunes application (iTunes or iTunes.exe).
10. Close registry editor and restart the computer

Unfortunately, even though I'd turned off compatibility mode for iTunes (by right-clicking the iTunes icon, choosing Properties, clicking the Compatibility tab, and clearing the Compatibility mode checkbox), the program generated this irksome message every time I ran it:

Sigh. Stupid Windows. Or maybe stupid iTunes. Either way, compatibility mode was "off," but iTunes didn't think so.
Fortunately, I finally found a solution:

3. Navigate to this Registry location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers
