We was given a portable audio and video disc player sever years ago. We've only used it one time. We went to charge it last night for a trip and it will not charge. It works when it it plugged into the wall. We also found that there is no car charger with it. Could you tell me what the problem is? Manual says it modal # is PDS-758LP

hi there is nothing to do by yourself. you need to take your md player to the next authorized service. seems the optical device that reads the discs has worn out, compareable to turntables you need to change the `needle` ;)
Well Durabrand is a walmart brand but fry's sales these external batteries that will hold alot more play time then it would to replace this for a new battery. And the cost is $49.00. You will get extended play time for the fraction of the cost of replacment batteries!! I hope this does help you out.
check the video input cables for any damage or broken part. check either ur tv or the player for any setting against NTSC, PAL or SECAM. Or try the tv with other player or try the player with other tv.
Actually, I don't think your problem is a matter of buttons pushed on a couple of remotes at all. I looked around the web and noted several instances that instructors may have confused readers, including those of the notably confusing user manual, as to how many of the multiple video inputs can be used simultaneously, and I believe you should choose the highest fidelity video input, whether optical or even composite, since your symptoms seem those of a situation where several video inputs are superimposed one upon another, which is an absolute no-no, and can ruin your video amplifier.
Check for multiple video input hookups before you burn out the vid-amp.
After about 100 CD-DVD units, I've found that most problems are from debris/film on the laser lens. If taking the cover off the unit doesnt scare you, unplug it and blow out the CD assembly with a can of compressed CO2 and VERY lightly clean the laser lens with 91% or better alcohol on a cotton swab. If that doesnt work , contact Cambridge Audio for a repair service.
I bought mine new and had the same problem. Never did get it fixed.
