If you clean the razor every day, the CLEAN and DRY lights flash repeatedly to show you that the cleaning has completed. You should be able to confirm that this is correct by NOT cleaning it one day. You should see that those lights don't flash then. I know this because I clean the razor twice a week rather than every day. On the days that I clean it, the lights flash. On the days that I don't clean it, the lights don't flash.
The main things that cause razor burns are if you dry shave, shave without adequate cream or gel, or shave too hard or too fast, your skin will likely show some irritation which will eventually become a razor burn.
Regular cleaning is important to maintain an optimal shaving result.
1. Turn the shaver on.
2. Rinse the shaving unit under a hot tap.
3. Pull the top part of the shaving unit from the bottom part.
4. Rinse the bottom and top part under a hot tap for 30 seconds.
5. Reassemble the shaving unit and carefully shake off excess water. Let the shaving unit dry completely.
