Not the water tank. There is a seal on top of the machine under the donut shaped cover. That is what you need to replace.

My Saeco Royal Machine is shorting out almost every time I attempt to turn it on. It developed a leak at the tank which it appears we need to replace the seal to solve. Could this leak be the cause of the shorting out also or could there be another problem i.e. a leak inside that is causing the short?

    Hi
Depending on how old your machine is, there are seals inside that could be leaking. If its an older machine(more than 7 years) the seals on the steam boiler, can start to leak. It could also be the main boiler. I can't emphasize enough on how important the descaling proccess is to the longivity of these machines.

The machine comes up with VENTILATE and the water container leaks water

You should check the water tank gasket. It is located under the water tank and is not part of the water tank. The gasket is on the machine side. http://www.cerinicoffee.com/Saeco_parts_Water_tank_gasket.asp

Also make sure that the water tank is seated properly... Be sure to look for beans or other objects that may have fell into places they shouldn't be.

Hi
The water line to the back of the machine does not fill the tank. There is a pressure reducer/ isolation valve inside at the water connection that switches between using the tank or outside line. Is it leaking a lot of water or just leaking a little? I have seen them get a crack from shipping. You can still use the water tank until you can get the situation fixed. There is a selection in the menu that you choose for which way you want to go. Direct connection or water tank. If you put water in the tank it will tell you that your tank is empty. You have to go into the menu and change it to direct connection OFF, push the menu button and then exit.

My suggestion is to take your machine to a small appliance repair shop, and do not try to repair this yourself. If you have the technical knowledge to do so, drain the tank of all water. Let the machine dry completely. Remove the bottom canister gasket and inspect for warpage. This gasket is known to shrink due to the heat exchange mechanism, since it is in an improper location, possibly a design flaw. Replace all gaskets near water/heat exchange and reassemble.

Hi
Do you have a gray cylinder in the water tank? If you don't that is you problem. That will float when there is water in the tank and tell the machine to work. If its missing or at the bottom, the machine won't work.

Saeco professional. Water tank needs filling, switch OK

Hi
It could be the magnet in the water tank. If it sinks you will get that message. How do you know the switch is OK?

Hi,

I think there should be a gasket in the watertank that the filter goes over.

Ventilate!

Can you get water out of the machine by pushing the hot water button?

This is how you would remove the ventilate message in the first place, but if no water comes out then the machines electro-valve is not opening and you will not be able to remove the ventilate message. You will have to get the machine serviced.

I would also give descaling the machine a try before servicing the machine.

My Saeco Royal Professional

Okay! This can be 1 of 2 things.

1. Your machine button needs to be programmed. Do this by holding the button down until the coffee is dispensed to the height of your likeing, then let go. The button should now be programmed.

2. Your machine is leaking internally and some of the water that should be going into your cup is going elsewhere.

Also try descaling your machine. For more info go to: www.cerinicoffee.com
