The top half of the screen is slightly duller than the lower half, this is across the whole screen. When initially switched on the top 1/4 (whole way across) is slightly darker for a split second then it sort of flashes downwards and covers the whole top 1/2 of the screen. What is likely to be causing it, is it a hardware problem such as circuit board, connection, or backlight, or is the screen just on the way out??

It means your picture tube is going out. It is just a mttter of time and it will go out completely.

I'm sorry, it sounds problem with lcd panel (screen) that is defective and causing lower half distorted image. If tv is under warranty then call number written on warranty documents for warranty cover or lcd panel (screen) replacement would cost you approx 80% of new tv price.

Across vertically or horizontally... It makes all the dif. It could be 3 boards on the set. The YSUS-main the YBU-upper/YBL-Lower. The Y buffer upper controls the top half of the screen, the Y buffer lower the lower half and the YSUS-main controls those 2 boards. They work in unison, when one goes they all fail. The other possibility is dry solder joints on the the D, G, E, F boards. All you would need to do with that is reheat the solder joints at the ribbon cable conx.

its not normal Nokia 900 has problems. These problems are small and are not simple. But also, these problems are solvable. you should concern with nokia outlet it may problem of your screen power or resolution of lcd it can help you or you can follow the nokia user guide site or can follow this

Inverter board is bad or video cable loose either behind LCD panel or near video adapter.

Locate Vertical Output device--replace w/OEM equiv.or better.

My maxent 42" has green and red flashing pixels all across the screen, what is the problem?
