Dimension E310 I just re-installed Windows XP. Now I can not connect to the internet because my ethernet driver is not installed. I was informed that Dell did not include a driver backup disc with this system. How do I repair this?

Since I no longer have the ethernet driver. I can't use my DSL line to download the driver. So where do I get the driver and how do I load it on to my computer???

I can't go online and download so don't suggest downloading it. Thanks.

I have a Dimensions Desktop E310; power on starts the fan, no hard drive sounds and diagnostic lights 3 and 4 stay on (inidcating a memory failure). I swapped out and upgraded the memory to 2gb and powered on; still on lights 3 and 4 come one with the fan; nothing comes on the monitor nor does the keyboard or mouse. I get no display...

How can I get these drivers if the computer is not connected to the web. Again, it's the ethernet driver not registering. Could I download the drivers to a disc?

I replaced the hard drive and reloaded windows xp however the system will not connect to the internet. It says disabled

Be sure to load the correct network card drivers for your Dell Dimension AND type of card installed. You can find them on the Dell Support site here:

Ethernet not working after format and xp reinstall

Right-click the My Computer icon and select Manage, then go to the Device Manager in the list on the left and find the Network Adapter from the list on the right, right-click Network Adapter and select Uninstall. When you reboot, XP should find the Adapter and reinstall it automatically. Another reboot may be required.

If it still will not connect, go to the NIC Manufacturer's website and download the driver to removable media. The Driver Update option can be accessed in the Device Manager, but this time select Properties when you right-click the Network Adapter, and go to the Driver tab.

Window Re-Install and no Ethernet Driver

use another computer to get the drivers from the dell webite (at home, library, friends) and save them on a CD or removable media. This would be the fastest and cost effective way. If you can get on the net to post this question then you can download and save the drivers as well

Dell dimension e310

What you need to do is install your ethernet card first. The card usually comes with a disc with the drivers and utility. Make sure you get that done to get it out of the way. Next you need to make sure the router is connected properly. If you have the installation guide for the router, check the lights. If it's properly connected, there should at least two green lights and one amber. The amber light should indicate theat you have no internet connection yet. You may want to check the proceedure about accessing the router. Usually typing the homeportal in the address bar on Internet Explorer. If you don't have the installlation guide for the router, download it under support at the manufacturer's website. The important thing to keep in mind is to make sure the ethernet card is installed properly meaning the drivers and utility(if any) are installed, and all it is is that it just has a red X on it telling me i don't have internet connection. From there, all you need to focus on is the router installation(physical), then follow the proceedure to access your router. Well i hope you fix it.
