When i turn my dell computer screen on, it only stays on for about 3 seconds and the go's off. If i press the on button it comes back on for about 3 seconds and go's back off again ! Do you know why it does this ? It's not the PC, because my other screen works fine. Can you please help me with this problem, thanks.

Remove the battery and power cable from the system and press the power button for about 5 seconds, then plug in the charger and start the laptop. it will work. shutdown it and put the battery back and start once again . now you can see its working

ok first remove battry .press start button for 15 seconds and now aplly battry and give sometime on charging and than press start button . enjoy good luck

If it worked on a computer at the IT person, it is most likely a faulty graphics card in your computer. You may want to get that checked out.

Hi,
the symptom more or less feels like there is a video driver problem on the laptop. I would like you to shut down the sytem ,disconnect the Ac adapter and remove the battery from the system. press the power button for 10 seconds .
Reinsert the battery and connect the Ac adapter.
Press the Fn + Power button , to run the diagnostics.
Do post back if you see colored lines on the screen ..so that i can give you more help

i have the same issue before with my DELL 2001FP, I replace the 3 capacitor on the board that look like defective because the top is look like swolen, it should be flat. I replace it with the same value and now the it works better.

i have a denon 1720 dvd player. When you press the power button it comes on for 3 seconds then the power button turns back red and powers off. If you press the eject button within the 3 seconds the tray opens and the power button stays green. As soon as you close the tray the power agin goes to red. i have a denon 1720 dvd player. I have the same monitor and it is only 3 month's old, the power lock button continues to fail and they have replaced it 3 times with the same issue, What a piece of ****!!!!

If the light comes on for three seconds and then go out ,generally means a power distrubution problem . remove the optical drive and memory from the system and try powering it on. If u get the same result , its time to take it to service tech , as your motherboard needs to be checked
