You'll have to get to the battery terminals while they're charging, and then you can measure the charger voltage, if any (around 12 v).
It sounds like your charger is bad, and you can order one from this site:

Good luck, and hope this helps you.

The charging lamp burning, does not give any guaranty about the quality of the battery. It only shows power is applied to the battery.
Your battery although it still can have a little charge, can be on its end of life. The only way to be sure the battery is still fine is to measure its voltage with a multi meter. If you do so, the voltage should be above the voltage printed on the battery. The nominal voltage on the battery is the voltage it will have when working in he camera. I think you have to buy a new battery. And please when you have a new battery, charge it several times a year, even when you don't use it between the holidays.

I have a 1986 Cutlass Supreme. The car has set fro several years. I replaced the battery and drove it several weeks before having a charging problem. The meter showed that it was not charging. I replaced...

Taking the battery off when car is running causes voltage spikes that can damage electronics, so it is strongly recommended that it not be done. Possibly, there is a fusible link blown out. It would be between the alternator and battery, keeping the alternator from charging the battery, and keeping it from powering the electric system.

Dell 1720 says plugged in not charging , works fine on cord , now that battery is down will not work on battery alone . meter when pushed will light one white light then goes out. battery bad ?

Hello there.
Unfortunately, your battery is "dead". I used to have Dell notebook for several years, and on everyone, after 1 year, battery gone. If your battery is still under warranty go to official Dell service and let
they replace it. If not, you have to buy a new one, and it is at least 130$.

I hope I was helpfull.

Sincerely,

I cant get my power chair jet 3 to charge batteries are good

Hi valentin 201
I have owned my own business for 3 years and have been working on scooters and powerchairs for 15 years. . In the future give as much info about the scooter as possible.

1. load test the batteries even if you think they are good, check anyway. Sometimes even new batteries won't hold a charge.

2. Your charger on the powerchair must have enough volts to open the charger inhibitor. That is, the charger won't even start up if your batteries are low. Both batteries need to have at least 20-22 vdc.

3. Some chargers have a 3amp fuse check that and repace if needed.

4. With a multi meter set on dc200 check your batteries. Red on one battery and black on the other. Check to see what you get for voltage. If no voltage reverse the lead wire to the other posts. Once you get a reading of 20+ volts watch the meter and plug in the charger, it should increase the volts on the meter. if not the charger is bad, replace. Charger should be 24-31 volts to be a good charger.)

One of these sugestions will fix the problem

Good Luck

Have a jet 3 power chair will not take a charge, can't tell that iy is charging

Cathey when you plug in the charger look at the rear of the chair at the meter if the chair is charging then the meter will indicate some amperage reading when it is fully charged the meter will read zero. Also turn on the chair and if the lights are scrolling or flashing it shows that the charger is plugged in. Now if after the meter reads zero (if it ever does) the lights on the joystick should all be lit indicating a full charge. If you aren't getting all the lights and the meter indicated the charger was working then you need to replace the batteries Hope this helps

Chair dont take a charge

Get new batteries If your batteries are 2-3 years old its time for new ones. You can check the output of the charger by using a digital voltmeter Set the meter to 200 vdc and plug it into the two outter holes of the charger port with the charger plugged in you should read 27-30 volts. and with the charger unpluged you can aslo read the voltage of your batteries. fully charged they should read 25 -27 volts. If when charging you don't read 27-30 volts then the charger isn't working and you can get an offboard charger cheaper than the onboard just charge thru the charger port on the joystick. Hope this helps

Not sure if jet 3 is charging

Does all your lights on the joystick come on after charging? If you can have someone look behind your chair while still plugged in for charging, the green light on the charger will be lit if the batteries are fully charged. They will have to kneel and look under the shroud to locate the charger they will see the light if it is on. Also check the meter on the rear of the chair the meter should read zero when the chair is plugged in and fully charged. I fyour chrger is working then if the chair does not stay with power for what was normal then new batteries are probably needed

Haven't used the chair for about a year and it has rarely been used. Now I want to let someone else use it and the batteries are taking a long time to charge. Is this normal for the description mentioned...

Hi. If the machine has been sitting around for a while mot being used, then your batteries have, what is known as, sulphated up. The plates in the battery have grown a layer of lead sulphate on them.
Sometimes repeated charging and discharging ( going for a ride on the machine ), will help the batteries regain some condition. Batteries do not like sitting around, without being used.
Charging overnight should charge the batteries, if they are able to be charged.
The meter you mentioned, I take it, it is on the charger? I will be measuring the current ( amps ), going into the batteries.
The best answer, but also the most expensive, is to buy new batteries.
Good luck. Neil.

Batteries not charging - just replaced with new -amp meter dosent move while plugged in. Old batteries were dead and owners manual says charger will cease to work when batteries die and to contact pride...

1st Check the 25amp inline fuse located behind the volt meter. 2nd Check the 50 amp fuse located behind the foot rest. A pin located under the foot rest when pulled out will open the front to access the fuse.
