It's a DC couplage problem ... you can't do any one if you're not professional electronician ... and this is want to schemas and experience. So you wanna take help from Harman/Kardon technic services... :S
Possible blown fuse inside unit, unplug and remove the top cover
fuse should be near the power board and transformer. replace with exact fuse, "Never remove covers with the unit plugged in" Always wait 4 or 5 minutes after unplugging to remove the cover.Replace cover before plugging unit back in.
thank you for the advise. i have the harmon kardon avr 3600 and was worried that i destroyed it. i will take it to a shop and get it fixed since it is a great receiver.
To avoid making the avr go into protect mode when you power up your Hafler 4000 that is connected in the avr's pre-out, you must power up the set up in the correct sequence.
1. Turn off your avr
2. Connect Hafler 4000 to the avr's pre-out it it is not yet connected
3. Turn on your Hafler 4000. The avr will not go into protect mode becasue of the transients from the Hafler because it is still not powered on.
4. Turn on you avr. There should be no more transients from the Hafler at this stage unless it is not functioning correctly, so the avr shouldno longer go into protect mode.
