I have GE Simon 3 Security System (60-875) installed at my house for more than 3 years. Now for the last whole week it start a cycle of 2 beeps after every couple of hours or so. When I press the "System Status" it goes away, and start again after couple of hours.
"System Status" says, "System Low Battery". My question is do I need a new "Lead Acid Battery" for it. This battery is supposed to be rechargable, and so I'm working why does it have to replaced.
If I do need to replace this "Sealed Lead-Acid" battery, can you tell where I can get it from internet.

I install these panels. For the low battery message to clear you need to power the system down completely. To do this you need to unplug the battery and also unplug the transformer plugged into an electrical outlet. When you power the system back up, you need to first plug in the battery leads. Then the transformer.

Once you open the main panel and it asks you for your access code for programing, look back on the top where the clip for the main panel is, you'll see another clip in there, use a small screwdriver to push in and press and release, then you'll see a small compartment with 2 philip head screws...there's the battery.
When you replace the alarm panel battery with a new one, you must first disconnect or switch off the mains electricity to the unit, then replace the battery before finally reconnecting the unit to mains power. If you do not follow this sequence, the panel will continue to give a low battery warning even though you have replaced the battery with a new one.
This is for use when you have gotten a low panel battery and replaced it , but it still says system low battery. Power down the system by unplugging the a/c power and main panel battery. Wait 30 sec, then hook the battery up first followed by the a/c power transformer. You will have to set the time, but the low battery trouble will go away.
No, after changing the battery and powering down the system completely to clear the "system low battery" message, it still remembers all your programs. The only thing it loses is the time which can be set again easily.
Once the battery has been replaced, I am still getting the low battery message. Is there a reset code?
I just replaced my system battery and that stopped the beeping. I got the replacement battery from Batteries Plus. It costs 10 bucks. It was easy to replace the old battery, it took about 5 minutes.
I followed all the instructions exactly and the low battery beeping stopped for a little over 2 hours and then started up again. HELP it is driving me crazy
After changing the battery and powering down the system completely in order to clear the "low battery" message, will I need to completely reprogram the panel to the settings I want? Will everything go back to the factory defaults?
Hey - I may be an idiot, but how do I even remove the panel to replace the batteries on the main panel?
I have the same Security System the same problem, with the 2 beeps every couple of hours .
The Control Center called and said the battery on the door connector was low and that was the cause of the beeps not the entire system, I replaced with 2 triple A batteries and no more beeps.

Thank you guy's for all your help. Got the battery at Fry's. $16.30 out the door. Had to plug battery in first then it cleared the fault. Did not clear fault when power supply was plugged in first. Yup it's a simple thing. Just had to reset the time.
I don't use my system anymore how do I shut the every two hour beeping for good. is there another option other than jumping through all the battery hurdles if I don't wish to use it.
I had the same problem. An electrician came out and couldnt fix it.I am girl who know nothing about this but I get trying.I bought a new 6V1.2AH battey for the panel on line at batterybob.com I replaced it. (to get the cover open put a screw driver in the round and square slot and pull). stil kept bepping. unpluged the transformer-still bepps-went to the front door and back door replaced the AAA batteries. Open every window and door and closed back tightly. waited 10 minutes put the transformer in. Finally-It stopped!!! and my headache is gone!
The battery is a GE 60-914 which you can find on the internet. My problem is how to open the panel to get to the battery!

Same problem here. Does the reset fix the problem? Does the reset remove all programmed sensors? I have 14 sensors and I'd hate to re-program all of them.
I keep getting a low battery warning. It started after a 12 hour power outage. I went in and reset the system and it worked for a couple of days, but it has started again.

i have the same problem and am trying to fix it. i have replaced ALL of my AAA batteries for ALL of my sensors and it still is going off with 6 beeps every 1-2 minutes and when i hit the status it gives me the same errors...telling me which sensors are "low" and "system low battery" even though they are all brand new batteries.
i have just taken out the lead battery thinking that would be it. you will get this by using
blancapeak info...which is easily accessable...and am wondering if that will be the case.
has anyone been able to fix this issue and have it go away before spending the money on getting a new lead battery?
I replaced the 6V battery in the master panel, but continue to receive the warning every four hours. I need to figure out how to reset the system also.
I have the same problem: the system low battery alarm has come after nearly three years use but the instruction manual (466-1873-01) and the users guide (466-1871-01) for GE Simon Security System (part no 60-875) provided by ADT who installed the system does not give any instructions for replacement of the battery.
I had finally figured it out. The lead acid battery life is 3 years by manufacturer. Even though there is no mention of it in user manuals.
The battery can be purchased at any Battery stores like BatteryPlus etc.
In order to remove it, first your will need to open the console panel. When you do that you will have to enter your pin code.
Then you will have to reach at the top of the console and use regular screw driver to open the inside panel.
Next you will need screw driver to open a rectangular battery panel.
Once open, pull on the +ve & -ve battery teminals gently (may need to use screw driver).
Then repeat the steps to install the batter.
It is more tedious than it should've been. I believe GE expected that the Security Company technician would be called to fix this.

People are confusing two separate issues. Simon will tell you which device is giving the "low battery" indication. "System Low Battery" means the console. If a door sensor or other device has a low battery it will be indicated as such. Replace the appropriate battery. Apparently the life of the system battery is about 3 years. Replace it or the beeping will continue.
