Not sure if you fixed this but I had the same problem with Intermec CK30's a couple of years ago, and it was in relation to the number of terminals using the same username & password to connect to the client server - might be a indea for you to check out.

do you have the CD that came with the hardware???
seems like the PC can't communicate with the hardware. although it see something out there, but it doesn't recognize what it is.
even the machine is says this device is working porperly, you still need to install the driver, and the configuration for the device. that's why the receiver doesn't flash.
try to install the drivers and the configuration application.
