Hi There, we've bought a SX62 Baumr-AG chain saw. On page 8 of the instruction manual - Point 3: "Install the attached spike to the power unit" - there is no diagram that refers to this instruction and no evident place to attach the spike ... Please advise where the spike should be attached? Thank you in advance

I have just bought one and the manual is hopeless but finally I figured it out. If you have installed the chain and guide you will need to remove them, then with the saw lying on the side and chain cover off you will see two holes on opposite side of the oil tank/engine casing
This photo shows the spike in position. Hi There, we've bought a - _173.jpg

Hello. I just bought a Baumer AG SX75 Chainsaw and have just taken it out of box. Believe a plastic piece is locking brake. Advise

read the user manual first as it will show any parts used for transport that have to be removed The user manual shows that the chainsaw comes supplied with plastic spacers (BB) underneath the chain drive cover and over or around the chain drive cover studs (CC)
Those spacers are for shipping purposes only and must be discarded before mounting the chain bar
The manual that I got that from can be downloaded as a baumr AG chainsaw manual pdf from www.datastreamserver.com>bau
The last baumr product( impact drill) that I purchased included the user manual in the box

I have a baumr-ag sx62 saw and need to remove the clutch to get to the chain sprocket ,the side panle is all dismantled, will it just pull of the shaft or is there a locking grub srew ? please help malc

The previous suggestion will work but there is an easier way. Remove the cover over the the chain and remove the chain and bar. Turn the motor over and remove the cover from the opposite side to reveal the cooling fan. This fan is held in place by a nut which attaches the fan to the engine crankshaft and is on the opposite end of the crankshaft to the clutch assembly. To stop the crankshaft from turning as you remove the clutch assembly, either put a socket and ratchet on the nut or jam the fan in position using a screwdriver. If you use a screwdriver take care not to break a fin off the fan. Now simply give one of the three legs of the clutch a sharp rap or two with a suitable sized drift and hammer but remember, and I use capitols to emphasise the point, THE CLUTCH HAS A L/H THREAD AND MUST BE TURNED CLOCKWISE TO REMOVE. Once loosened, the clutch should spin off by hand. Whilst you have the clutch and sprocket off, make sure that you check the serviceability of the oil pump drive and the flimsy (stupid) cover plate which distorts and falls to pieces with heat and where I think most of the oil leaks from when the engine is not running. Re-assembly is simply the reverse procedure. Good luck.

Regards, Bob.

My Baumr Ag sx62 leaks bar oil.

The white plastic thing you talk about is spare impeler for the chain oil pump, but you should find it is a different thread which will slow down the oil flow, well it did for me. i have owned one of these saws for three years now and it still goes like a freight train. before you put them to use you must make sure the carby is set right. because if its running to lean or not enough oil in the fuel, Yes it will seize every time. All you have to have is a little bit of an understanding in small engine mechanics. Yes they do leak a little oil, just fill it when you want to use it. a chainsaw should use one tank of fuel to one tank of oil, no more than two tanks of fuel to one tank of oil.

I have a Baumr-ag sx62 chainsaw I put a new chain on it now i can't fit the side cover back on

Loosen the chain tension adjustment screw a few turns so that the tang from the adjuster will drop into the large hole at the rear of the bar. You may need to jiggle the bar in and out a little to engage the tang. Once you do, the cover should drop into place securely. With the attachment nut(s) slightly loose, adjust the chain so that it doesn't droop from the lower side of the bar, yet still turns fairly freely by hand. Tighten the fasteners on the side plate and recheck the chain tension. Hope this helps!
